: Potential MR Price
UnctrldRage 01-24-2008, 03:27 AM Now I dont want to get any bodies hopes up but I stumbled upon the press release for the Japanese EVO (dated Oct 07)
Now the ratio to US - Jpn price usually isnt far off give or take about 1000 dollars....
This was the price in YEN for the MR (GSR TC-SST on the press sheet for Jpn) 3,750,600 That equates to about 35K and some change in US dollars...and with the Base GSR in the US being 32.9K That doesnt seem to far fetched to believe. Heres the site Pricing at bottom of page
http://media.mitsubishi-motors.com/pressrelease/e/products/detail1682.html
I'll still be seeing what I can confirm for the MR at the Houston Autoshow.
The price you are seeing is the "base" price, there is no way you can walk out of Mitsubishi with that price. Initial registration fees & taxes are about $2500 here in Japan. Also note that the JDM model doesn't come with any stereo or speakers and there is no such thing as an "MR" version here. It's just GSR with 5 MT or SST, everything else is optional.
I paid about $37,000 USD for my 5MT GSR in Japan with the High Performance Aero Pack, window visors, keyless operation (smart key), and floor mats. This is with a $2000 USD discount.
If I were to buy a SST with the same options as the US model MR (Bilstein/Eibach suspension, BBS wheels, Leather seats, chrome trim pack, fog lights, and navigation system), it would cost about $46,700 USD without any discount.

TriStateEvo 01-24-2008, 07:19 AM Hey, SiC, me and my ex-wife in Gotemba have been talking about a potential trade. We will give Japan our low pricing, but they have to take George W. Bush along with the trade. We'll take JDM spec Lancer Evolutions at a slightly higher price, but be free of the 'W'. =).

My wrecker crew is going down to Gotemba tomorrow to pick up a crushed piece of metal & rubber of what used to be a motorcycle. A soldier wrecked it near Mt. Fuji and broke both arms & legs, he was medically evacuated to Trippler Hospital Hawaii :confused2:
One thing good about Bush is that he spends alot of money into the military. This is good for us so we can get new vehicles, desks, computers, etc. for my work hehe
TriStateEvo 01-24-2008, 08:03 AM Yeah, she told me that Fuji is covered with snow right now. Jeeze... evac'd all the way to Hawaii... that must have been some accident. How far are you from Gotemba? I might be making a trip out there in March to spend some time with the ex.

About 2 hours away using the Tomei Expressway, I work at a US Army base called Camp Zama in Kanagawa-ken. When you get to Gotemba, you should go to the Fuji Speedway, not very far from there.
Parnelli 01-24-2008, 04:54 PM This is pretty simple. IIRC MMNA first projected prices of $34,000 and $39,000 for the GSR and MR, respectively. Published reports said that they hoped to beat that by $1000. Voila, the GSR undercuts the projected price by $1k, then lops off another $10 so the price starts with "32" instead of "33" Apply the same math to the MR and you will get a base MR price of $37,990. I will bet a virtual case of Fat Tire that that price is within $50 of the announced base price -- whenever we learn that....
From what I have seen in this forum people have been paying anywhere from 37k to 41k for a GSR, now these GSRs have a few options on it but the prices are really close to the JDM prices since I paid about $37k for mine. In Japan the SST costs an additional $2,200, High Performance Package (suspension, wheels, chrome, leather, fog lights) additional $4,500, and the Navigation Pack is around $3,500 with the Fosgate speakers.
And no I don't "wanna bet", I'm just posting the JDM prices since the original poster is converting the Japanese prices to virtual US prices.
