Ok, I got my kit that was started by jms in san antonio finished up by evolution dynamics in Dallas and everything felt pretty good and only got stronger during the drive home. By the time I got back to Abilene, the car felt amazing. Started it up today to test it out again farred's stage2 cobb tune stock turbo setup. Everytime we do a pull, it cuts out and I get codes. Here they are.

0123 Throttle Position Sensor (Main) Circuit High Input
1233 Throttle Position Sensor (Main) Plausibility
1235 MAF Plausibility
0139 Heated Oxygen Sensor (Rear) Circuit Slow Response

What are the causes of this and what can I do to correct?

I have seen this before on another 35R tune, your air flow limits maps need adjusted in the throttle/rpm range that the codes are showing up in.
How many pounds of boost are you running and what octane?

25psi spiking sometimes at 26, but it's still good. 91 octane.
I've noticed after switching to this and the new tune, my af guage goes back and forth faster on the display faster than before.

I don't have a solution for your codes problem using AP, but congrats on the install!

You can either have your tuner adjust the tables, or if you have access to self tune the map I can send you the data to plug in.

I have access to tune the car, but not to log. I don't have a setup yet for logging wideband. Would adjusting that table eliminate ALL those codes? I wonder why it didn't do it last night, but just decided to start today.

since your in san antonio why not 93 octane?

Because I work in Abilene, so I only own a house in SA and only visit around once a month or so.

Excalibur. I have Richards number if you need it. Send me a PM if you need it sorry for your misfortune. I've been driving the crap out of mine and all is well. No codes but PO139, which I may never get rid of. How long did you guys spend tuning?

I think it was like 21 pulls and then from there, he monitored it while I beat on it for a while. I drove home beating on it on the ramps and such and got home for another small romping and thought all was good till the next morning. Should be able to get all fixed up next weekend.

Yeah you too. I wish mine would have turned out like yours. It's probably alot more work to mess with all the crap I added though. Idk. It's crazy, as soon as I get it situated, I'll be right back there with the cams ready for more, lol

I do not know what it would be like without the cams, but I sure do like how the entire package turned out.

Sorry about that. Rich said that it's the ecu doing it's thing. That's why he wanted me to beat on it more while I was there. He said to try to get it to do it as much as possible and next weekend he will be able to adjust accordingly and get it where it needs to be.

Also, do you know where the thread is for the bbq this weekend in Dallas?

^^Ya we spent a good 30 mins with him logging in the car. Just beating on it trying to get it to throw codes. Then I drove the gas out of the next day including the drive you guys went on with me.

Oxygen sensor code added.

Ok, update:
I have been watching my afr's like a hawk and when I'm cruising, my afr will be around 10-11 and when I give it like 80% throttle, it goes around 16 or so.
I came to the conclusion to check my relays. I added the green updated horn relay for the fuel pump and went on a run. Got about 4 NICE pulls and on the fifth one, back to limp mode where I couldn't even go anywhere. I had to pull over; the rpms bouncing up and down. I shut it down, cleared the codes. Once the codes where clear, I started it back up. It was still running like that. So, I pop the hood (still stuck on the road with no shoulder) and swapped the horn relay that was in the horn relay spot. I drive back normally and right before I get to my apartment, I give it another pull through 2nd and all was good (no cutting out and afr's were ok). Pulled into my parking spot, my idle was back to 10-11 and then settled to 14.6-14.7. I get on the computer and decide to go out and switch the fuel pump relay and horn relay with the high beams. Turn it on and both are FINE!!! WTF!! I'm ruling that out, but now I don't know what's up. I guess maybe it's still in the tune, but I'm not sure. Any new suggestions?

My fuel pump reg hose is fine as well too. Codes are all the same as listed before.

UPDATE!!!!!
Today, I had what Richard at Evolution Dynamics said to me playing over and over in my head. "Check all of your vacuum lines b/c there's no way your af's should be off that much. The tune would keep that in check. Something has to be off". Well, sure enough, I end up finding that the fitting and line that goes to one of the wastegates was loose and finally came off (also what was probably making the metal to metal noise I was hearing. That hitting my heat shield when the car vibrated). Well, that is good that I found and bad in the respect that I don't need to drive it till I can get the new bolts and washers for the fitting. Luckily, Michael at ETS is overnighting them tomorrow for me and they'll be here Friday. With any luck, this is the only issue and the car will be back to new and making good powaaa. I'm kinda glad it's something I found with my own hands as opposed to someone else finding it in a second and me feeling retarded. I hope to be able to post up vids and better reviews soon. !!!!

Car's still broke dick.

We rearranged the port on one of the wastegates (one that wasn't even hooked up lol) and then made sure everything was hooked up correctly and then gapped the plugs to .020. From there, we check the ltft's and stft's and everything was good, so we go on the drive to now effectively dial in the boost (as it was obviously overboosting. We turn the wastegates all the way down and we're still boosting 27psi. We can't go lower than that with the springs that are in the wg's. So, with everything set for that boost, we adjust accordingly and when done, beat on the car. The car was a freaking MONSTER!!! However, upon my arrival and such, the car decides to cut out and throw all those codes again and go back into limp mode. Fucked again!!

I would say its the tuner and not the product

Excalibur
10-25-2009, 05:58 PM
I would ship, but I don't want to have to do that everytime I add something new to the car.
The tune is likely the problem. Whenever the tuner gets to his computer, he's going to make adjustments to the air check and torque limiter tables and send it to me so I can upload it on the car and then maybe do some logs.

Well, today I installed my ets licp and a muffler delete pipe and I got a TON of codes and hard limp mode.

0123 0139 0137 0223 1233 1235 1234

Added new map, but I still have a couple codes. I'll have to mess with it again tomorrow. Looks like I may have to make another trip to dallas (hope not)

fuk that sucks man. Have you thought of seeing if cobb in dallas could have any better luck. I don;t know if they tune open source, but chris seems to know his stuff. Anyway i'm sure they'll fix it at EvoDynamics. Probably something small they are overlooking.

Well we're sure it's the torque limiter and air check tables, but the only way to make that better is to keep fixing it when it happens and whatnot. It was getting to where it would only do it a couple times a week. Today after the installs it's been horrible. I have to say I'm not impressed with the ets licp fitment, but I can't find any leaks. That was one of the first things I checked. Then I was thinking the elimination of the muffler may have done something, but I don't see how. The turbo is extremely loud now through the exhaust!!!

I really need a beater!!!

I have been talking to him, clipse, ets/english racing, and my tuner about all of this. Everyone is looking over the maps and coming up with solutions. I have numerous maps to try out. Here is a thread to one of the issues at hand.

One issue also ended up being a damn vac line popping off of the passenger wastegate again. !!!!

1238 is the torque limiter code, looks like your bouncing off the air and associated codes. Don't worry by the time you clear one the other will show up.

man do i know the problem your having. i had all the same codes you did. its your tune. you wont believe how awesome your car is till you get the air flow limits rite for your 35r. i have the agency power 35r kit and hollywood has been helping me. almost got her dialed in. except for me needing 1000cc injectors the 750's i have now maxed out quickly but shes def a rocket. and im sure yours will be too. eventually atleast.

English racing sent me a revised set of maps for the car, but I can't get it to come up on ecuflash right now. I'll have to look at it more when I get home. It's one thing after another. I also have to change the way my ebcs is hooked up. I don't know if that will mess stuff up, but I'm thinking it will and we'll have to readjust the boost tables. Yeah, I'm hoping it will feel better when I get it squared away. It's a long process with my resources.

Thanks. Speaking of loose ends, lol. This morning I smelled fuel. I went to check my vac hoses since they like to come off and found out there was a little fuel on the top of the UR fuel filter. Tightened it down more. Hopefully I won't see that again. I had thought I was smelling fuel a couple times when driving around slowly. I guess that's why. Original installer payed little attention to details or something. I'm hoping nothing else ends up being an issue. It's like they had a kid tighten the kit down. Every single fitting so far has leaked.

It will do no good. They just started their business and it will work itself out. Their other customers will kick them to the curb if they perform like this on their cars as well.
