Its definitely coming from the engine itself. overlord 10-20-2009, 11:47 PM I may be wrong but I hear a pretty noticable tapping noise...sounds just like my car did before I had it towed to the dealer. They diagnosed it as a stuck/bent valve. Symptoms were the ticking noise, poor idle, stalling, and a P0300/P0301 OBD code with SES light. And it sounds like its coming from the back of the engine near the turbo side. The heatshield has been tightened already so its not that, its gotta be something internal. Had a friend mechanic look at it and he didnt even know wtf it was. Just told me to take it in to dealership and have em look but I know they gonna gimme a runaround. OGMogie 07-01-2010, 11:49 PM Yeah, my trans was taking a crap. I have a MR and the rattling noise was something to do with the gears/clutches when idle. So, yeah unless you have a MR doubt you have same problem as me. Ohh and btw, that wasnt the only problem I had. I also was experiencing bad jerking between 1-3 gears and I couldnt launch the car anymore.
