In a few of the engine shots I've noticed a "Use only Mobil 1 oil" sticker...would it hurt to use Royal Purple instead?
I just prefer the purple.

Stick to Mobil 1 to keep the warranty. If Mobil 1 good for Porsche, Mercedes, it should good for Evo. Mobil 1 5W50 good for winter and summer.

Mobil 1 is your friend not the best but at least approved. :)
Also if you track it /road track / then you get the 15w-50w and call it a day./ of course only for track use/

I've heard mixed things on royal purple.

In my Mazda, I use a mix of Mobil 1 and Shell Rotella T (for the lead content which is good for bearings).

Is it true that the oil from factory is mineral / semi syntetic to help break in. So we suppose to change to fully syntetic oil after 1000 miles?

Thrice, mobile 1 synthetic and had the dealer do it. Free not getting oil everywhere for the win.

Between 3400 and 3500. I changed my oil as soon as I got the car, at 1k, and at 3k.

I had the dealer do it, since I get it free for life with the car. They use Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w-30, Mobil 1 Oil Filter, and the engine takes ~5 quarts.
