: can 2 transmission coolers be utilized?
bradze 10-21-2009, 07:25 PM i feel like a total noob for asking this question. i dont know if this is even possible, but could an additional oil cooler be utilized. thinking of a cooler under the trunk since i have so much room from my single-exit exhaust. while the front mounted one seems good, id rather not block the radiator; this is probably one more of my stupid ideas and i feel if i keep this up i should be banned for being such a ricer......
SSP Kris 10-21-2009, 07:41 PM Good question. Two coolers can be utilized as long as the second cooler is fed by a secondary oil pump. The factory transmisison oil pump does not have the capability to run 2 coolers effeciently. I have attached a few pictures of our new SSP Pro Line Transmission Cooler we are working on for the 25 hour endurance race in California.

bradze 10-21-2009, 07:46 PM cool, thanks, gl in the enduro.
celica2evo 10-21-2009, 07:48 PM so do you think utilizing two stockers would be efficient enough for track use?
bradze 10-21-2009, 08:00 PM had an idea of getting a decent sized one and mounting it in the emptyish space under the trunk since i have only 1 exhaust tip. well this in addition to the POS stock tranny cooler.
evox44 10-21-2009, 08:20 PM Looks GREAT SSP. wow. Would the radiator work as well with the coolers blocking it? Also why didn't you go w/ your rear mount + a new rear diffsuer to enhace the cooling?
bradze 10-21-2009, 08:21 PM yeah, good question
SSP Kris 10-21-2009, 09:00 PM If you look just below the bumper, check out how much of the factory intercooler blocks the radiator. And then, you have the fatory AC condensor infront of that. The radiator will have no problem in cooling with a added cooler in front of it. You have 2 large fans that pull air over the radiator when it gets too warm.

Tokyokiwi 10-21-2009, 11:41 PM Kris,
Why not use your rear mount cooler ?, you have stated previously that the rear mount is for serious track use... I would have thought a 12 hour endurance race would qualify as serious ?
Have you discovered some issues with running the rear mount cooler that has made you favor the front mount option ?
LVSBB6 10-21-2009, 11:44 PM I always wonder if I can run HKS and Blitz SST cooler at the same time ;)
evox44 10-21-2009, 11:47 PM ^He said with an additional pump you can run two coolers, so probably.
SSP Kris 10-21-2009, 11:55 PM We are trying to get away from the rear mount. The front mount cooler has been a great seller for us. We still have several of the rear mounted coolers in stock. And yes, they would work great for a track event. The general puplic sides with front mount coolers.

kozmic27 10-22-2009, 05:58 PM Radiators are easy to install in this car, and dirt cheap if you're worried about cooling capacity. I spent 255 bucks on my radiator that has 50+% more capacity than stock. It noticeably lowered my face temperatures when in the engine bay while car is at operating temp.
superlemonevo 10-23-2009, 06:38 AM SSP : should u just keep the cooler and remove the right, cos the hot air from the cooler is more probably getinto ur air intake... Any no to show 2 is better than 1?

Speedie 10-23-2009, 11:58 AM Don't really think hot air from the cooler is going to do much since it goes through the intercooler afterwards
