: Aero Package Question
klipsch0 01-28-2008, 03:51 PM Can anyone please tell me and show me the difference between the X with and without the Aero? Google isn't helping me much and I can't be caught online at work. But, I'm going to dealer after work and I don't want to be caught off guard.
Thank for your time,
Manny

_Chris_ 01-28-2008, 04:14 PM ^ Love that tint!
takissd 01-28-2008, 04:18 PM does the MR come with aero , or is it an add on thing?
EVOXCO 01-28-2008, 04:19 PM does the MR come with aero , or is it an add on thing?
Its an add on for 2k.
EVOXCO 01-28-2008, 04:21 PM ^ Love that tint!
The tint is great but the windows fit so tight that it is getting the shit scrached out of it. So if you tint your EVO the tint will get scrached.
_Chris_ 01-28-2008, 04:23 PM Im gonna put a lighter tint on the front and darker on the back.
EVOXCO 01-28-2008, 04:52 PM Im gonna put a lighter tint on the front and darker on the back.
The tint that is on there is 15%.
ShahulX 01-28-2008, 05:14 PM the aero kit looks good, i like oem kits vs aftermarket ones... (usually look like crap)
klipsch0 01-28-2008, 06:05 PM Okay, thank you for the info.

DirectorSe7en 01-29-2008, 02:05 AM The Aero kit is a must.....
A $2000 must? I think not.

i know Mercedes have a liner which needs to be taken out or adjust so the tint doesnt scratch wonder if the X is the same
EVOXGSR 01-29-2008, 03:14 AM liner? why would they have that? tint is so thin is shouldn't get scratched, but you have the car so you would know. how bizarre. Is the scratching real bad?
dmx88227 01-29-2008, 03:31 AM well in the Benz its not bad you barley get scracthes as long as you keep the dust out but according to EVOXCO it seems like its bad
TriStateEvo 01-29-2008, 01:19 PM Just as a heads up, if you are going to tint the Evo/Lancer the tint installer must be notified that a moleskin piece must be attached to the inner door panel where the glass meets the gasket. The gasket that Mitsubishi uses is extremely hard and will scratch tint unless the moleskin is used.

Really, this is interesting. Thanks for sharing! This is actually pretty important, we should move this to someplace more noticeable since tinting is a very common thing to do.
DirectorSe7en 01-30-2008, 03:28 AM ^+2. I had no idea.
How'd you figure that out?
GRK EVO X 01-30-2008, 04:33 AM well in the Benz its not bad you barley get scracthes as long as you keep the dust out but according to EVOXCO it seems like its bad
i have a modedd benz with tints. they do get scratch BUT i installed molskin and it doesnt get 1 line of scratch:shades: im going to trade it in for the evo X
PDXEvo 01-30-2008, 04:37 AM Every window tint installer should know what I mean when I say "Get molskin" right?
Ektor 01-30-2008, 05:06 AM This has been in use with us regular 08 lancer for a long time.. and although the moleskin helps alot, if its not cleaned and you dont give it TLC it will start scratching again...

klipsch0 01-30-2008, 12:47 PM Welcome to the forums
Thanks, homie. This forum seems much more helpful and friendlier than evolutionm forums. Mostly annoying brats over there hating on the X and flaming anyone who likes it.
:wtfsign: It's a little slower but, it feels better in every other way. I'de take that over the 0.03 seconds it lags.:amen:
Kooldino 01-30-2008, 01:50 PM Nice find, ektor!
This looks like the best solution to me:
sorry to hear this problem. In another car of mine it has the same situation. What I did was just trim the factory scrapper that butts up to the window and left it as that. There is a very small gap and I mean VERY SMALL gap but my tinit looks awesome for the past 2 years.
If I were to tint the 08 I would do the same.

ok. u know the plastic scrapper that laid up against ur windows b4 u had them tinted? Then they removed it and put the moleskin inplace of it. Well just remove the scrapper and ur done. I ur case just remove the mole skin.
It may bother some people but if ur way to busy with life and just dont have the time to keep up on the maintance of keeping the moleskin dirt free then its the easy solution. Small lil gap but really, its no biggie.
Just an idea.
