: fidanza clutch sliping
Joelvo 11-01-2009, 08:25 PM :wtfsign:i took my car to the track & on the 3rd launch it started sliping, its only has 8,000mls on it, the tq is 599 on the clutch & my HP is about 340, it only slipes if i launch it, at a roll its still fine, the positive thing is that it didnt have that eggy smell like the stock clutch & it launched better than the stock of course ,i just figured it would last longer , ive noticed that a good amount of threads list the stage 2 exedy but if its the issue than i should go for stage 3 if any
my stock lasted me 11,000ml
4.3 Performance Clutch

LOL at the end...
Kooldino 11-02-2009, 08:02 PM This thread is absurd.
599 tq and 340hp, eh?
And a FIDANZA clutch?
Oh, where to begin.
TRUSTcompany9000 11-02-2009, 08:09 PM I didn't get it either lol
Xenozx 11-02-2009, 08:51 PM I think he was saying its rated to 599, and hes only doing 340. I could be wrong.
I have heard good things about spec, and a Spec Stage 2+ is the sweet spot for drivability and performance. If / when I need to upgrade, thats what I am going with.

That is what he is saying... :)
EdmontonX 11-03-2009, 01:46 AM Damn I was looking at the Fidanza clutch, good to know
prodigy1210 11-03-2009, 09:13 AM lol wtf how soo much torque and soo little hp? Sounds like a truck motor to me :p
wilbdog 12-08-2009, 09:57 PM I know I'm getting here way after the fact, but from what I've read online a bad clutch could indicate the same problems as a clutch that just needs to be readjusted. I would try readjusting the clutch before buying a whole new one.
SupremeX 12-08-2009, 10:00 PM Sorry to hear about the slipping! That's never good.
I have the exedy stage 2 HD and still no slipping. Mind you that I launch the piss out of my car

Yeah mine just started slipping / smelling yesterday! :(
It goes into the gears fine but when I'm around 3k RPMs and I hit the pedal a little the RPMs dash up to 4k and the car doesn't move any faster. I know I have a boost leak but I'm pretty sure the boost leak couldn't cause that...

Since OP is using metric in some of this I believe the 599 he mentions is NM or newton meters which would be 440 torque and would make much more sense.
Mr.Wicked 12-08-2009, 10:23 PM But How Does A Clutch Last 11,000 Milliliters ?? Metric = Disgusting Bloody French
Ttsumibishi 12-08-2009, 10:31 PM But How Does A Clutch Last 11,000 Milliliters ?? Metric = Disgusting Bloody French
That would explain why it didn't last that long..the soup in my avatar almost lasted longer
jApOrMs 12-08-2009, 11:40 PM what's the material on the clutch?
whitecomet 01-29-2010, 03:51 AM This is one mean clutch. Your footwork better be good, it’s no walk in the park. Just because it has a torsion damper like the Three Point Two doesn’t mean it drives like it. Those are ceramic buttons attached to that puck. They provide quite a grip upon engagement. That means power is planted straight to the pavement. Don’t be scared though, it’s not going to give you a larger left leg. It comes as a six or four puck option. I am getting the same thing and intend on getting the ssp stage one mc upgrade and upgrading the diff pins for good measure. If this option fails exedy twin all the way
