The rep. called me to let me know they have GSRs in stock and if I wanna test drive one to get the pulse and temperature on it so, I went to Glendale Mitsubishi on Sat 26th and to my surprise since every other dealership ask for a mere $500.00 over invoice, this one was asking.... Check the pics.

They had 3 in the parking lot a red one inside showroom and more in storage according to a salesman, couple of guys came to check them out but when they saw the prices they ran like hell. They are not even willing to deal.

yeah, after seeing prices like that, I think God for guys like Sam and KmX who are offering forum members good deals on these things. It's nice to know that I can get a car from either of them and not get scammed on the deal.

I hope all dealers like this go fuckin bankrupt. And what I hate even more are those idiots out there who just because they want to be the first with the damn car go out and pay these ridiculous prices. The only reason these bitch-ass dealers do this is because of these *******s. I hear that dealers across the nation are in an uproar because of what socal mitsu has done with prices, instead of following suit and doing the right thing for the mitsu(evo) faithful. I understand its about making money--thats why i applaud what socal has done even more, and believe me they will make money. If only i didnt live almost 3000 miles away in nyc i would have bought my evo from them along with an suv ill be needing in 6 months(wife) but im apprehensive about shipping and it would be about $1400 to ship the "most safe" way. You guys out in cali are very lucky to have a dealership like socal--best i could get here is msrp and even that seems like alot for a mitsu.

Yeah, that's KMX you met.

Trading in your car and your bike should get you a nicely equipped X with money to spare. With the spare funds, buy a slightly older gsxr or something. :)

if you could trade in a car and a bike i wonder if you could trade in two cars for the X

I hate it when dealerships do this with new cars... they did this with the PT Cruiser, the new Thunderbird, and the Pontiac Solstice, now all of them are a dime a dozen.

do dealers take bikes as trade in's??

Kooldino

Probably not. Unless that particular dealer sells bikes as well.

Do you own your 8 outright?

When I first saw that sticker I thought it was the Canadian price - the ethics of the industry never ceases to surprise me. Good thing there are always exceptions to the rule, and this forum is lucky to have a few present. As I'm seriously considering whether to import once the bumper regs are relaxed, I know which dealers I'll be in touch with!!

Cheers,

I would just ignore the sticker prices guys. Everyone knows you can wheel and deal with the dealer. If you dont want to go through the hassle, then just get an autobroker. You gotta remember, these guys are in it to make money. You would be surprised by how many people post in the forums and say "I got it for $100 over invoice!", and the reality is they paid $1000 over MSRP. The reality is you will pay what you think its worth. Objects are always worth more to some people then others, so a wide varying price isnt surprising.

Now go spend some money and stop the recession!!!

01-30-2008, 05:14 AM
that's crazy. the dealer up here had them marked 3k up. I said I wouldn't pay anything over MSRP, and well, they let me take it for MSRP. (They had 6 in stock,so it wasn't like they were hurting...)

That's insane! Anyone who buys one for double the sticker is an idiot. I understand paying a little extra for a high demand car (i.e. $3-$5K) but not double!?!?!

Hell for that much cash you could buy a different high performance car (Z06, Viper, etc...) and still have enough left over to buy an Evo X too!

here in NZ, its pegged at approximately 150K-160K territory (NZ$). Same price range as the new BMW M3. I dont know how that compares to the US.
