: Rule idea
Eyler_Evo_X 11-03-2009, 07:49 PM Like the no bagging on merchants rule, here is my idea.
**No member should be allowed to post pictures , or links to pictures, of another member's car in an attempt to disparage, bash, or incite conflict.**
The intention here is to keep everybody classy and helpful, rather than starting grudges, fights, or internet tough-guy arguments. There should be no reason for one Evo X owner to diss another Evo X owner for not sharing the same likes. Keep it constructive.
pistolpete69916 11-03-2009, 07:51 PM So for example, me posting a picture of a lexus lfa in a DIY body kit thread?
Eyler_Evo_X 11-03-2009, 07:52 PM I mean, taking a picture of my car and putting it on another site or something to just flat-out bash it, for example.
TRUSTcompany9000 11-03-2009, 07:55 PM So are you saying that taking a picture from this site and posting it on another just to bash it?
Eyler_Evo_X 11-03-2009, 07:56 PM Or on the ...other... forum, yes. I don't see the point of doing so.
TRUSTcompany9000 11-03-2009, 07:59 PM As far as people being rude or bashing someone's car here, we do mitigate that pretty well. Saying that you don't like something is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you post a picture of your car, X or any other car for that matter, expect to get positive and negative feelings about it.
Where this is different is when someone is blatantly rude, calls someone a derogatory name, or something to that effect. That's where infractions and points will be handed out.
As far as posting on another forum, you can ask a Moderator or Administrator there to remove the photo, however we don't really have any say in what is and isn't posted on another site.
Eyler_Evo_X 11-03-2009, 08:04 PM That's fine and all, but that doesn't give a member of this forum the right to pull something on this site from a fellow member and put it on another site for negative reasons. I dunno, it's just a thought. I'd mentioned it in Dino's new rules thread and he said to come up with something, so I did.
TRUSTcompany9000 11-03-2009, 08:08 PM I see where you're coming from with the idea. The thing that I am considering is how we would actually go about enforcing that.
The way that I see it right now, is just like a Police Officer. Let's say you have a California State Trooper, he can write tickets for someone speeding, not using their blinker, etc. while he is in the state of California. But once he goes over to Nevada, he is unable to write that ticket as he is out of his jurisdiction. Is it still illegal? Yes, absolutely. He can call his buddy in the Nevada State Patrol to write the ticket, as it is his friend's home turf.
Does that make sense? Yes, it's wrong, but I have absolutely no way to enforce something on xyzforum or abcforum.
Eyler_Evo_X 11-03-2009, 08:12 PM I completely see what you're saying. But I'm just of the opinion the we should police our own people and have them show some class, but it's all good.
