Not tested so far...

But I thought it needed to be tested to be released?

Yeah, I thought that they had to be tested before they are sold, but I saw a picture of the sticker on the window of an evo x and in the crash test rating section, it said that it had not been evaluated yet. Strange...

I believe the vehicle has been submitted and is awaiting the results. Im guessing since the body is the same as the base lancer, and the frame / unibody is very similar, they were able to use those ratings. I dont know for sure though. Just guessing.

I was told by southcoast they do not have crash ratings due to limited production status.

the older evo's had their crash ratings... the lancer has 4 stars front and back? I think the evo might be 3 star/ 4 star back due to the aluminum peices up front

I was under the impression that it was already tested in Europe and received a 4/5 star NCAPP rating. I'll have to relook at some of the brouchers that I received early on to see if that was the case.

They will not sell a new vehicle in NZ without a saftey rating.

I wonder what is considered limited production status.

I dont think the Evo X will be limited like the earliest evos.

I am guessing that the evo X will be produced greater than 6,000/year.

If anyone knows Japanese there may be a production forcast for the evo X in this report issued by MMC.
