: Hot New Song thread

Kooldino

Here's a novel idea for a thread:
Recommend people a song to download and listen to.

Rules:

-The song has to be relatively new.

-The song can't be too mainstream (ie, not a song you hear on the radio 24/7)

-The song has to be unique, and good.

I'll start: Timbaland- The Way I Are

LDN or Smile by Lily Allen.

LDN is a good tune.

Scooter - "Behind The Cow"

Take my word for it...it's pretty good. If that's not your style, check out

Devin Townsend - "Hyperdrive"

Both songs are within the last year of release. The Devin Townsend one will be on CD soon.

So...what is the working definition of relatively new? Within the last two years?

I've got the entire Scooter Discography. If you want any...shoot me a message. I'll send albums.

But, since you mentioned Scooter...another great song from the newest album...

"The United Vibe"

The new album is called "The Ultimate Aural Orgasm"

I guess that works. Two years at oldest.

Scooter - "Behind The Cow"

Ok, so far I have two versions, both of which are drastically different.

version 1 - Scooter - Behind the Cow (Extended Version)

version screaming black guy - Scooter - Behind The Cow (Spencer & Hill Dub Remix).mp3

Seems like a good tune overall. I definitely recognize the background (not surprising, as Scooter frequently steals backgrounds from 80's songs), but I can't quite finger it.

Awesome thread idea I'm always looking for new tunes. I can't currently think of anything decent to offer up.

Here's one: Kanye West - Stronger

It's rapped over a slowed down version of Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger which if you're not familiar with, you should also check out.

Black Stone Cherry - "Crosstown Woman"

These guys are new, but really impress me. In my opinion, they're adding what's been lost in rock music the last decade or so.

Where the fuck is kyle on this one? He spouts off all the bands at Dinner in AC and then leaves me wishing I had a photographic memory.

Scooter - "Behind The Cow"

I found out where they ripped the background from. Kim Carnes - Bette Davis Eyes.

In other news, Scooter has some lollerworthy lyrics. Good tunes though.

Albums..not songs.

Glad to see I'm not the only person that operates that way. Whenever I hear a song I like I just buy the album because there's probably much better gems hiding on there. I would never have discovered Modest Mouse and many of my other fave bands otherwise. The single I first heard was 'ok' but the rest of their work is just mind-blowing at times.

Same goes for the mars volta.. Frances the Mute is an amazing album, the single off of it was obviously just made as a single as all of the other songs on the album are ~20 minutes a piece (split into multiple tracks though)

Is that the RIAA's site for free legal music? glad they finally got into that business hahaa

all kidding aside whenever I want a song I get a torrent of the whole album (see above post for reasoning) and put a 48 hour deadline on deleting all the files. if it's good, I buy the album, if it isn't it's gone. If the RIAA comes knocking I won't ever have more than 2 albums of pirated music.

Summers a bitch, eh? I really want to listen to Tools 10,000 days albums but.. I can't, because it's bright, sunny, and very warm outside. I'm stuck with taking back sunday, the used, etc.

At sunset I can listen to Modest Mouse and such but not midday.. even though I'm sitting in a very cold office with no windows it just doesn't seem right to listen to 'heavy' or 'dark' music when it's so nice outside

YES I'M CRAZY.

I'm the same way with food too.. I absolutely can't tolerate pizza or chinese food if it's nice outside. It has to at least be dark and cool
