I dont think so the RS is a BARE_BONES evo from what I understand....

The GSR in the US will be similiar but not as ...bare...

Maybe as an 09 model.

Why wouldn't we get an RS version? The IX was available in RS trim here in the states.

i think that the closest you can get to one is a base gsr.i read that somewhere if not here from a post.

I read someplace that there is an RS model planned for 09. Let me see if I can find it again.

Because I think the completely base model USDM GSR is a JDM RS....I think.

I dunno nothing seems solid on the possibility of an RS

Well we might get one down the line but i can see why not for at least a bit.

-I remember reading that the IX RS was sold by Mitsu for 900 over cost. I doubt Mitsu is making much of the base 08 GSR; I can see the MSRP going up on the 09's if the 08's do well, this could open up a little room for a little bit more lean EVO RS.

- the Lancer Raliart is coming out this summer, an RS EVO might have taken some of its sales depending on how close the price difference was.

Also in case anyone doesnt know the RS in Japan is very literally a Rally Sport model; it is for Rally teams mainly. It has no AC, Radio, Recaros, SAWC, nothing that will be swapped for racing parts pretty much. Our RS's have been nothing alike, kinda.
