Hey Guys,
Just retuned my car yesterday, after driving with the new turbo for 2 weeks in low boost, I feel it is time to tune it up to its full potential :shades:

This is one of the heart-breaking series dynos in which my car with full bolt-ons with stock turbo un-tuned made 230whp / 260wtq, while stock turbo tuned with full bolt-ons my car made about 291whp / 310wtq.

The average figures of 353whp/350wtq is with FP Green tuned to 28psi, plus Jun turbo manifold as additional bolt-ons.

The beauty of this turbo is that it makes even more torque than stock turbo. Slight lag is expected from a bigger turbo, however it's not really that bad compared to stock-untuned turbo baseline. Once the turbo spools up, the power comes in very pronounced and pulls really hard.

Anyway here are the drawings:

Baseline is full bolt-ons with stock turbo, un-tuned (140whp/110wtq gain @7000rpm):

Baseline is full bolt-ons with stock turbo, fully tuned to 26.5psi (90whp/70wtq gain @7000rpm):

3 graphs overlay:

3 solid back to back runs with Green installed, highest torque reading was 361wtq:rock::

I like that you are making these numbers w/o cams. 350whp is perfect for our cars D/D IMO.

Very nice. Keep that boost turned up. The Green seems to like more boost

Nice, your chart looks very, very similar to mine. Also I was making similar numbers to you w boltons untuned, and then tuned.

Overall the numbers look strong. It looks like the boost threshold is 500-800rps higher. How is the transient response?

I really like how my car is making good power while still being very quiet like stock, thanks to the Blitz exhaust.

The Green definitely loves boost, i'm curious to see how much power it can make with meth.

Very nice.

very nice. congrats.

Thanks guys!

Very similar curve indeed, major difference is you are running meth ;) Have you fixed your startup issue?

Not too sure about the boost threshold figures. Response is awesome!

Seems the problem is slowly starting to work itself out. We are seeing zero knock w the meth, I will be going back soon to hit the dyno again, tweak the tune and hopefully make more power.
I didnt know you were dynoed on a dynapack, its amazing how close we are on the same type of dyno.

I think our dyno figures can resemble to each other since we're running basically the same crappy pump gas available in Canada, and same type of dyno setup. Which makes me think that you should be able to hit even higher whp than me since you have meth running. You torque figures look great, but definitely there's more to be had in horsepower.

Good work with the green.

Thanks! My spool up now is a lot better than what my dyno showed, its hitting 26psi at 2600, 29psi at 3000 :)

its quite easy. just make sure the area is clean and there is some humidity in the tank.

While the peak gains of 45 hp are very nice, I cringe when I look at the losses down @ ~4000 rpm between the tuned stock turbo and the tuned FP Green. Your car is loosing at least 45 ft-lb of torque with the FP green as opposed to the stock turbo.

I could be wrong, but I have rarely seen this with the FP Green on an Evo 8/9. I do not understnad why these turbos are behaving like this on the Evo X.

I agree not a big fan of the dyno graph. I'd like to see at least 500 quicker spool. That being said I think as tuners tune more of these it will get better. I've seen 2 IXs with these on a dyno and their spool wasn't any better and their peak power was barely more that full bolted on X.

My car is spooling MUCH quicker now than what the dyno shows, it wasn't the best representation of what this turbo could do, as I didn't have the chance to play with MIVEC that time on the rollers :duh:
I now hit 26psi at 2900, 29psi at 3000, 30psi at 3100 :coffee:.

My datalog says I'm now spooling even quicker than my stock tuned :bowlol:, I'll re-dyno sometime after the new year to confirm.

I think I'd be willing to sacrifice some spool for the more linear power that the Dom2 offers. We'll have to wait and see what the BB-X does.

The Jun manifold is sex. I'll probably go Full-Race.

Wouldn't the dom spool quicker than the green considering it does 4 lbs/min less?

Damn I surprised u didnt go with the Tomei arms seeing all the JDM bling and they claim it spoils faster then dom and has more power then the red.

I called TomeiUSA before I ordered there exhaust and thought it might be a good idea to inquire about other products they have coming out to see if I want to go all TOMEI on my build they told me that first hand then I ask about a TI dp but they said they wouldnt be making one but might do a uicp and licp and intake in the future but didnt say if they would be ti or not.

If the claim is true then I may consider switching, until then I`m sticking with Green

O I agree I was just throwing out there and I would wait to see if the claims are true as well and if they arent then I be getting a Green as well.

Quick, do a new dyno run.
If it spool like you claimed, I'm seeing green.
