Yeah, I heard that on the radio on the way to work. It's so stupid.

Instead of trying to stop the use of it (read: won't happen) they should promote the word with a more lighthearted usage (such are rappers and comedians do). Take the offensiveness away from the word. Take the power away from it.

Werd. They continue to keep the flame burning on the power of the word.

Even little kids are using it thinking its the "cool" thing to do and they have rights to use it because they happen to be of a certain color.

i disagree.. it's always going to offend people.. and Most of the people who do use it lightheartedly are black.. and would be offended if you did the same. I don't use it.. and never will..

Yea well the same ones would take offense to a black man getting an education like they're switching sides. I get where ACLU is going here but they are going about it in completely wrong way.

I'll never use it either.. there's just no need. I honestly do wish rapper/comedians would voluntarily decide to be above the word and let it natually become like so many british english words we stopped using here.

That's just not realistic though. That won't happen. If anything, the word will get overused to the point of meaninglessness. And that's ok. Either way, the problem is that the word is offensive. There's only two ways to solve that.

1-take away the word (unlikely)
or
2-alter the meaning of the word (feasible)

I choose not to use the word. I never will.. in any context.

However... maybe my kids will in the same way that i'll call someone a nazi (as in when people called us admin nazi's on the other board ;) )
