: What are the Fuel Alt#1 and Fuel Alt#2 maps used for?

Hi Guys,
I am wondering if someone can help me with a brief explantion of what the Fuel Alt#1 and Fuel Alt#2 maps are used for?

I am wanting to update my current rom 53050006 with 53050009 becuase it is a more currrent version and has more maps defined.The 53050009 Def. file has the adddtion of Fuel Alt#1 and Fuel Alt#2 maps which were not in my 53050006 Rom Def.

i have an updated 53050006 but without alt fuel 1 & 2 but have it on 53050009 ... mine to exchange the def files ? i'm also trying to figure out what it does ...

Hi E6-X,
I had exactly the same problem with my 53050006 def file. it also did not have Alt Fuel maps and not many maps were defined. I have now transferred my maps from my original 53050006 rom to the 53050009 rom and flashed it onto my car.
No problems, the car runs better, smoother, and idles is more stable. It has also smoothed out the gear change of the SST.

thx dleong ... i have the alt fuel maps on 53050006 & 09 . havent flash the 09 map yet. will do that once i've finished updating the def files.

Thanks Hotcrown. Your not the only anal one here i hope. me included. Can someone explain the RONMON/2 equation and what RON and MON are? Thanks

RON+MON/2 = AKI (Anti knock index)

The number you see at the pump in the US is an AKI #. RON = Research octane number, MON = Motor Octane number.

Alt Map 1 and 2 is not used .. don't bother with the map ..

Alt Map 3 is used by SSTs only
