I'm new to the forum and actually will be picking up my first new car (2010 Lancer Evo X GSR Octane Blue) next week. I'm wondering if there are any other Evo owners in upstate new york and if they have any opinion on how the car handles on the frequently un-plowed roads in the southern Adirondacks.

The car handles flawlessly. First thing you would need is a set of winter tire. DO NOT DRIVE ON THE STOCK ADVANS. You really could injure yourself.

I'm having the dealer switch them out for a set of winter tires before I pick it up next week.

If they're going to switch out the stock Advans for some winter tires, either keep the Advans, or get them to knock off about $1800 from the OTD price of the car. Those things are pretty much some of the best OEM tires to come out of the factory on a new car.

I'm keeping the stock tires, I just needed something else for the winter season.

I'm running Yokohama W.Drive winter tires. Blasts through snow in Berkshires like a champ (when driving at reasonable speed for snow of course).

Evo + Snow + Parking lot = fun

Albany ny... need a tuner desprately. I'll drive to ivey if I must, honestly I look forward to doing so. but a local tuner (not synapse motorsport or Albany speed shop) would be nice. especially if they specialize in evos

I am in Rochester. The fun part is that Great Lake Sacandaga is my escape place for a lot of the summer. We have some great friends (closer than family) whom we visit whenever we can. I also transform into a boat person once the weather changes.

We have a lot of resources for tuners around here. I still drive to Toronto for a pro-tuner, but we have a multitude of shops and guys in the area. I guess we are spoiled.

I will put together some local events this year, and typically have a large cookout meet up for everybody in the summer.

We have a couple track guys who revolve around Watkins Glen. If you have never been on that track with an Evo X, it is an amazing resource in your back yard.

Hopefully I get to meet some new Evo X faces this summer.

Vestal Parkway heading to conklin, there is an exit pennsylvania av...its right next to the auto zone on vestal avenue. I also work at the Army recruiting station in University plaza. I will actually be there today from 2 to about 3ish.
