The final grid order for the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Xs will be arriving in May 2008. After that there will no longer be any 2008 Lancer Evolution X vehicles available for order.

As I am no longer a vendor on here, I have nothing to gain or lose from posting this information, other than to educate the masses on what I know. I did this before I was a vendor and I will continue to do so for well after.

I know there are people who are procrastinating for a price drop in the Lancer Evolution line, but this is not 2006. In 2006, the Lancer Evolution IX came in a VERY LARGE quantity and Japan saw how slow the Lancer Evolution lineup sold in the United States. To a point where dealerships were giving them away. This is no longer the case, as my dealership has been curbed to only 30 cars and I am one of the highest ranked Mitsubishi dealerships in the country (#1 in district, #1 in region, #4 in the country for 2008 so far).

This post is purely for informational purposes and is not an attempt to garner business in any way. I simply wish everyone to know the 'State of the Union' as to what is going on with the Lancer Evolution X. Thank you.

I think KMX was saying the last shippment will be arriving in May 2008
So maybe march is the last time you can make an order.

They figure it wouldnt hurt to paint a few GSR in PB. But now with the MR a no go, you think there is a chance that there will be no PB allso?

I dont understand why they wouldn't just keep the GSR selling in the US. So first they sell the GSR, then stop. Then they sell the MR in October, and then what? stop production and selling for that too?

I've been saying "WTF Mitsubishi [Canada]" for a long time now... considering the awkward business decisions they've made up here in Canada.... I'm not surprised they'd pull something stupid like this - even for the Americans too.

IF this is true, it's gonna make getting any EVO a challenge, demand is higher, supply is lower... price = higher?

He was planning to trade in his IX for the X MR but is now holding out for this so called XI. Is there any rumors of this circulating and is the halt in production a sign of this?

but I highly doubt that would happen anytime soon, they're to popular here, and now with a bigger target audience with the X I really doubt they would. :)

I just spoke to my dealer moments ago here in St. Louis and he told me that originally the MR was the only car to get the PB color. But since they have had to push it back they WILL be releasing the GSR in PB. I was supposed to get mine in 2 weeks but that color won't be here until mid March, a little behind all the other colors. I know there are lots of rumors flying, so just trying to pass on what I've been told.

so will the MR be coming on schedule in march/April? Or has production been halted?

Not to add to the confusion, but I was told by my dealer a week and a half ago, and posted this, that the MRs would not be brought out until this fall, and as an '09 model, due to "production problems".

It seems like everybody is getting a different story, we will just have to wait and see, or wait tell MMNA officially announces something, the X has just been one big waiting game since the start

South Coast Mitsubishi is where I got my X from. On launch date too! They are literally 10 minutes from MMNA headquarters and I know they have a very close relationship to MMNA. I dont want to discredit them in any way, but I also am very curious to see whos in the right, and whos going to be eating crow.

Totally off topic, but thumbs up to Sam for the AWESOME deals from day one of the X. No crazy markups, not even MSRP....

i dont mean to add more to this confusion, But when i stop by my dealership early this morning to pick up my plates . I talk to the salesman, And i did ask him about the MR.
He told me That the district Rep for the Midwest, MN, Iowa, ect. told him that the MR will be delayed for 6 more month, And will be here as a 2009 model.
With KMX in Eastcoast not even having theirs in yet, and Socal having tons in, I dont know who is right or wrong, But this is what the Midwest Reps are saying.

i hope this is all just one big laughf i really do......

maybe SouthCoast Mitsu bought them all.... greedy bastards!
