shingo 05-21-2008, 08:55 AM Will 18x10 38 fit what about on hard conering?
Will 18x10 38 fit what about on hard conering?
That fits but might rub against the struts as clearance distance is -1.9cm from stock 8.5 +38.
Why are you going 10's? You can fit very wide tires on 9.5's and there's no need to add more weight.
simonlam168 05-22-2008, 12:53 AM Hi FLK, do you think 19 x 9.5 is suitable for EVO X with no rub? I am thinking to get a set of Prodrive gc-014i 19 x 9.5 22m offset. thanks!
Hi simonlam, welcome to the site!
9.5 +22 works very well.
simonlam168 05-23-2008, 01:29 AM Thanks FLK!!
BTW, what tire size do you recommend? My friend recommends 245/35 since they worry it will rub if go with 265/30, what do you think?
Simon, 245 on 9.5 is a bit stretched, and pairing that with a 35 series is just wrong.
I would recommend either 255/40R18 (1.2% bigger diameter) or 265/35R18 (1.6% smaller).
mitsugst4eva 05-23-2008, 03:49 PM i'll do it tomorrow :)
Sexy for sure! And those tires stick VERY well! Good call on your X! :+1:
simonlam168 05-23-2008, 03:56 PM FLK, The wheel size is 19 x 9.5 22m offset, not 18 inches. :)
Please advise Thanks!
Oh! In that case 255/35R19 is what I'd pick.
simonlam168 05-23-2008, 04:27 PM what if I go with 265/35R19 .
265/35R19 is also acceptable, it is 2.3% bigger than stock diameter. 255's would be 1.2% bigger. In any case both are within the 3% difference limit.
Go here (http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp) to check the tire size differences.

One more question, do you think 19x10 35mm offset (265/30R19) is a bit bulges? :bowlol:

It wouldn't bulge out at all. That is dangerously close to not even fitting because the offset is too high for the wheel width. I'll guess and say it has only a few mm from banging against the struts.

Do you think 25mm offset will work? I am thinking to get Advan racing RZ 19x10 since they dont have 19x9.5 with lower offset.

Like so?
Yeah that works, but you may have to roll fenders with 265+ / do some suspension work for a proper fitment.

i think these tires are too narrow for these rims. But that is my personal opinion.
simonlam168 06-04-2008, 04:40 AM Finally, I decided to order Advan Model F7 black 19x9.5 +20mm offset with 265/30R/19 advan sport tires. Those rims will arrive early July. So damn expensive!!! As FLK said, we can use 9.5 with very wide tires. It's a bit risky to get 10 for EVO X.

on2it 06-04-2008, 05:30 AM not bad. unfortunatley not my cup of tea.. good luck with your purchase though!
Let us know if it clears easily or if you had to make modifications to the guards etc.
USLegalTender 06-04-2008, 06:05 AM I know this may sound like an odd question, and I know it is, but I was wondering if an 18x9 TSW Mondello with +20 would be able to fit and wrapped in Nitto Neogen 255s? Or do you think that the Mondello weighs too much? I can't seem to find a weight for it.

It would fit perfect, but I wouldn't be surprised if those wheels weighed in at around 28+ lbs. The 20" version weighs in at 34 lbs! I'd definitely go for something lighter.
USLegalTender 06-05-2008, 01:53 AM Just wondering if the 5Zigen FN01R-C 18x9.5's (+12 or +35 offset) would fit mated with a 255/40R18 Nitto. The issue I'm seeing with the FN01R-C is the offset making it a little cramped. If you have any reccomendations for some very light wheels, please do tell of some. I like making lightweight mods to my drivetrain-sometimes they're the most noticeable!
Robevo 06-05-2008, 02:19 AM i just ordered the Gram lights in 18 -9.5 with 22 off set. i will see the fitment as soon as get them :)

Neither of those offsets are optimal for the X, I recommend +22 which is available for the FN01R-C. The tire choice is good.
The FN01R-C weighs 23 lbs, so there are tons of wheels that are lighter, a couple alternatives are WedsSport SA70 (18x9.0 +20 @ 17.3 lbs) or the Advan RS (18x9.0 +22 @ 16 lbs). Either of those paired up with 255's are a great balance. Can't go much lighter than that!

The 19x8.5 +17 is a good fit, run that on all four corners with 245-255/35R19. You cannot run staggered on awd - all wheels must be same.
Don't get the 19x10 +22 unless you like to light your money on fire and handle worse than stock.

^No, some people claim you can get away with different width wheels but same width tires. Fact is the weights are off and unbalanced - over time it will cause damage to your center diff.

I got them from discount tire direct dot com, but you can't search them by make and model you just have to search by brand and size.

I read the fitment sticky and did some searching on evom...I have a spare set of rims at my house that I run with my VIII, they require 5mm spacers to clear the front brembos. They are SSR type F's 18x9 +32. They have summer tires on.
Was wondering would they fit or should I start shopping now. The only comment I've seen so far was that they were "too conservative, go more aggrassive. " Now my X is a "honda civic" for me... cruising, driving to work and such.... the VIII is the fun car. Just need to be able to commute with these rims.

They will fit. Inner clearance is the same. Your rims will stick out an extra 1.2cm compared to stock.

FLK, was wondering if I could get your advice on the following set up: Volk ce28n genesis 18x9.5+22 on Advan Ad08 265 35 18 (a beautiful set of wheels for sale in the for sale section). I'm running stock suspension. Was wondering if these would require any modification (spacers or fender rolls) and a sense as to how the X would handle (as good as stock or maybe a little worse)? Tks in advance!!!!

IndyEvo 04-26-2010, 10:30 PM i have same wheels on the same springs and you will need to roll your fenders in the read some espcially if you run star spes's. some get away with running other brands of 265/35/18 and not rubbing much but star spec's are wide 265's.

I have read through every page on this thread and have gone through and RE read the two other posts about 265's on stock wheels.
From what I understand is that I need to run at least 38psi as to not roll the side walls but other than that it will fit and not rub. Thoughts?
DO you have to do 265/35R18? I'd just do 255/40R18 and call it a day

trick3d 08-15-2011, 09:17 PM accident, meant to pm. :duh:
i have a question, would 19x9.5 +22 fit alright? and also what tire size do you recommend for this size of wheel. thanks! :D
Yes it fits.
Tire size depends and is variable depending on if you lower it etc.
the offset is actually +15 i made a mistake. so it'll be 19x9.5 +15 yes it will be lowered on maybe swift spec-r and i was wondering if the 265 tire will work out.

Comments: Stock camber. Front fender liner slightly rubs on full lock. Easy fix, just need a heat gun.
souji 09-15-2011, 06:53 PM Suggestions and comments with 18x9.5 +30. Any modifications needed? Currently have stock suspension. Looking in the near future on lowering with coil overs. Clearance issues with aftermarket suspension? Looking to stay with 0 camber. Ideal tire size? and is the ideal size stretched?

You'll have no problems, zero camber is a mistake though!

What would be recommended. I am focusing on function while maintaining style, but will not have a style to lose function. I am not looking to have a toe out where there is uneven tire wear.
ethanhunt 09-17-2011, 04:51 AM How long till my wheels gets added in aftermarket wheel gallery?
