: EvoScan 2.7beta5 problem

I have been running 2.7beta5 since it first came out with no issues. Today, I do a log session, and stop the logger, then shut off the car. I start the car back up, and the following items got stuck when I clicked start log: 2byte rpm- 35500, all 3 load options- 2840, throttle position- 1.73542, and the rest weren't switching like normal, but showing a possible value. I tried several different times to unhook/ rehook up the cable, and restarted the computer several times trying to see if it was isolated. It happened everytime. I uninstalled/reinstalled, and now I get an error saying my data.xml is out of date. I opened a support ticket for hamish to update the data.xml. Anyone have any idea what caused the values to stick everytime I clicked start datalogger?

Do you mean EVOScan?

Make sure the logging type is set to "Mode 23 USA EVO X " in the listbox. I've gotten some erratic data fields several times when EVOScan reset itself to "EVO X" while the car was set to Mode 23 so that may be your problem. It doesn't always hold the settings from the last session.

It is set to mode23usaevox, as well as can/evox to the left of that. I also listed it is evoscan in the title of the thread. Nothing was changed on my end except I stopped log, shut car off to refuel (like I've done numerous times), restarted car, and hit start log. Then the values changed to what's in my first post and stayed like that. The tactrix cable communicates still with evoscan and ecuflash.

Ok, I got evoscan to load, but mode 23 evo x ecu doesn't change values at all. They stick like I mentioned above. I know the cable and connector work, because when I switch to ecu "evo X" it logs fine. This is telling me somethings wrong with mode 23. I don't know what to do at this point.

Check the three settings to enable Mode 23 in the ROM you're using. Then make sure that ROM image is loaded to the car.

(Note that the XML def file is specific to the version of ROM image you're using.)

Did you change any paths or directory locations to the XML files recently?

It's funny you mentioned that, I just went for a drive and read my rom to make sure it was there. Everything is fine with mode 23 in the rom and the def's in the rommetdata. Weird. Also, evoscan doesn't have an option to let me run as admin, and in permissions, I have full control. I'll check file paths one more time.

Edit: I just went back into the ecuflash file, and all that's in it is versions.php. I can't find any other files. I'm uninstalling and reinstalling ecuflash and I guess I have to mod the defs again.

What do you mean by "stick"?

Maybe bad wording, the value returns for each parameter I want to monitor doesn't change when I hit start. A screen shot's below:

I just uninstalled/reinstalled ecuflash. All the files were missing except versions.php. I'm going to mod the base and 52680015 defs for mode23 and see if it works. Anyone have the mode23 link handy?

ive got the same issue. same values and everythign for load, tps, and rpm.
I previously had my car tuned by DG motors, so im assuming Mode 23 has already been enabled.

bump for figuring out the issue.

If i try to log in EVO X ecu mode, some of the parameters dont make sense (load =7000, etc)

Edit: found what I needed, I'm going to try evoscan now.

I went out and tried it, mode 23 still doesn't work. The def and base file are correct. I'm almost at wit's end with this freakin thing. Any thoughts?

have you got a backup copy of your xml files? (a version that was working perfectly to your knowledge) is it possible that your current copy got corrupted?
If so I would do a reinstall and reinstate your previous xml copy (is that's possible)

It's not possible. I deleted everything before I reinstalled, thinking along the lines of it being corrupted. With the advice of someone else, I downloaded tephra logger which is a very basic mode23 logger. Below is the result. It makes me think there's something wrong with my tactrix connector (switched out the hi-speed usb cable for another one and no difference), but that just doesn't make much sense for the fact that I can still read/write in ecuflash and log pretty fast with ecu "evoX" selected. I'm confused.

:( bugger.

have you got another forum member close by with the same equipment (to try and use?) just to remove your cables and setup from the problemsolving?

I'm in MD right now. I'd love to see if I could meet up with someone this week and try another tactrix connector. Tomorrow if I get my new battery, I'm going to reflash with a virgin rom and see if it works (upon another suggestion). If it doesn't, I definitely want to try another cable.

Solved my problem this morning. I downloaded a gunzo map, modded it, and flashed the car. Mode 23 worked after that. I don't know how the rom in the car got corrupted or lost 23, but it did.

bwagner31, try downloading a new rom and doing this if you're sure your defs are correct and your tactrix obdII connector and usb cable are working.

Edit: I just got done logging after I bumped my timing @ low loads (cruising) higher. I'm averaging 27-28 at 75mph. :godance:

i called DG and they dont think that they enabled mode 23 when they tuned my car. so im gonna try to enable mode 23 tonight and hopefully evoscan will log correctly after that.
