We recently started up a new usergroup here on EvoXForums. They are known as the Gearheads. The Gearhead status will be handed out to our more knowledgeable members who consistently help people out with technical issues. Gearheads titles can only be handed out to regular members, since many staff members and/or merchants inherently fall into this category. The Gearheads status comes with a dark blue username text and a larger PM inbox to handle all of the questions they might get.

This is our way of giving a nod to all of our members who truly help out the community in a technical manner. Only a small handful of members will qualify for this status, and it's a status that is appointed, not applied for. If we feel that you deserve this status, you may just login one day and see that you have it.

Cool... Now we know who to pester for questions...

LOL, you're the only one at the moment, but we have a few that we intend on adding in the near future after you "beta test" it for a few days and let us know if you see any flaws in forum permissions and such. :)

The way I read between the lines here is that we need a button to filter out all NON-gearhead responses when reading topics and just zero in on Hollywood's contributions hehehe :D (just kidding)

Plus I don't think even with a fancy title people will sway their decisions. Thats clear just from some of the last posts I've offered advise in. People take the path of least resistance in most cases. Plus its abundantly clear I'm not always right I have been wrong once or twice before :confused2:

I think thats part of why Dino made me a "Gear-Head" though. At least when I'm wrong I'll admit to it and throw the good data back out there. I also won't comment on items I don't understand or haven't directly had my hands on. With or without the title I'd give people my honest opinion and offer help on getting their car running right. Like you guys pointed out, you gotta sort through the bull shit to get good info and I can assure you that no one person has all the answers, and they say they do thats the one person to push the ignore button on. :rock:

LOL, if I had a nickel for how many times people do that when it comes to cars.
My personal favorite is the guy I build vehicles with. With every build or air suspension system, he asks me to draw up what I think would be best. I spend hours on it, for him to tell me "I'll figure it out" and do the complete opposite. If he tells me he wants me to fab a center console, heater box, link bars, etc, I will do it just to have him call a couple days later with a question and the famous phrase "I'll figure it out". It's enough to drive me insane sometimes.

That's people for you! You know I started tuning my X in Aug of last year and I listen and did what the smart guys on here told me to do XPRimNT, LAX, GST, Gunzo, Hollywood , NJ, Tephra and who ever else was help me out. (sorry if I forgot your name) So yeah those people should have stats for doing what they do and that's help people out.
