I'll keep the discussion rolling at this link but didn't want anyone to miss it:

We have created a Rochester DSM One Lap fan Page. I think when this all started, we didn’t appreciate the difference between a Facebook Group and a Facebook Page.

Once we started on the trip itself, it became very difficult to maintain an Internet connection long enough to update everything and the Facebook group fell behind. Having a Facebook Page will allow us to post updates from emails and also give us a better visibility footprint to people who do want to keep up with us.

While it seems redundant in nature, I can see the Page being more useful to us than the Group. Take a minute to become a fan of us on the Page to keep up with the 2010 events through Facebook.

Stephen actually wrote up a quick article on the advantage of the fan page, since we had a lot of questions ourselves.

Let me know how those ER Series work out for you. I'd like to hear your experiences tuning them on track and for ride quality. Also, any problems or issues would be helpful too. After seeing their shock dyno, I was fairly impressed considering the level of shocks BC competes in.

Will do! These should be ready to install by the weekend of Friday, Feb 19th and I may test the 10k/10k combo first and then swap the 12k springs in so I can gauge if the change is all positive. I don't want the car to be "too willing" to turn in although I suspect I can always dial down the rear swaybar to compensate.

nice, i can't wait to hear your impressions of each setting.

you could do 10k/10k with the rear bar on stiff, front bar on soft

or you could do 10k/12k with front bar on soft, rear bar on middle setting

plus you can also just set rear rebound to be a little bit higher than the front too as long as you aren't 3 wheeling

looking forward to seeing your tuning and results!

I've already gotten a site located for a decent 100' diameter skidpad. If I can do 6 laps consistantly and then measure total time with a stopwatch, the error should be minimized enough to get a consistant reading and a feel for how the car is handling.

Lateral G-Force = (1.22) * (Radius) / (Lap time * Lap time)

With a 100' Diameter skidpad (50' Radius) these are a sample of the times I would be looking at:

.90g = 8.23 sec * 6 = 49.38 sec
.95g = 8.01 sec * 6 = 48.06 sec
1.00g = 7.81 sec * 6 = 46.86 sec
1.05g = 7.62 sec * 6 = 45.72 sec
1.10g = 7.45 sec * 6 = 44.70 sec

Going with a 200' Diameter skidpad (100' Radius) like the Tirerack has would be more accurate but then we are talking higher speeds and a larger site that is harder to measure out.

Darkside Engineering is now an official sponsor of the Evo X for this years 2010 One Lap of America event!

Many thanks to Logan for working with us for this years event, I'm sure the car will react well to the suspension improvements. You can read all the details for what is in store for the suspension at our main site!

I managed to get some more seat time on the BC Racing ER series Coilovers today while it was 60*F outside, powering out of some favorite turns I was getting that sick slight oversteer feel that the car wanted to go faster and turn harder all while being very stable... what a rush, I can't wait to get this car on the track now especially since this is only on the 10k/10k springs and just a baseline 10 out of 30 for Compression and Rebound settings at all four corners!

You can read more about it here at:

More news to follow after our corner weighting session this Saturday and I'll likely get some Dyno numbers for the latest round of engine changes.

So we had some corner weighting madess at Street Tuned Motorsports on Saturday and got the car a bit better balanced. You can read more about the numbers we got here:

A big thanks goes out to Emery for offering use of his scales to get the car closer to being dialed in for the event. I'll have the car's Toe aligned to zero and start mapping out what settings work best depending on road conditions. I don't know about other parts of the country but this winter has left the local streets in shambles!

In preperation for the mix of street driving between all the road courses and then actually going all out on the tracks, the Evo X hit the dyno to make sure all was healthy. Read more about it here:
