As you all may know January 12, 2010 was a devastating day for the people of Haiti. I thought this would be a great way to show our support. I urge everyone to make it your mission to come to this event. I would also like to state that many of you know alot of people in other fourms/ car clubs; please spread the word!!!
There will be a raffle at the end of this event from generous sponsors with a lot of great prizes to be won. All proceeds from both event and sales of raffle tickets will be given to the "Save the children Haiti Relief"
Please Come and Support the casue!! Pass this information to all Car clubs/fourms.
phillyguy920 01-27-2010, 07:01 PM How about we do this and help our fellow americans who are in need of help!! These haiti people dont appreciate our help. There are many people still suffering from katrina who arent getting help. Im sorry i feel bad but why the hell are we always helping other countries when they dont appreciate it and our damned country cant take care of its own people!!

how do u know that they don't appreciate the help? Do you have any haitian friends? My friend lost 10 immediate family members in the earthquate and the money that was collected and given to him to help his remaining family there brought him to tears. Just because people in this country need help does not mean that this tragedy should be ignored. If you are so concerned about the homeless in this country, 66% of which are alcoholics, drug users, or mentally ill (which I exempt from criticism), then feel free to donate some of your earnings to the thousands of charities and non profits that already exist.
Scooter 01-27-2010, 07:26 PM There is no reason to get snippy for a good cause. There are plenty of people all over the world, INCLUDING this country, that need help. Give to the charity of your choice and do not bash other people's tradgedies or charities.
Jeremy@SSP 01-27-2010, 07:26 PM ^^^^ Well said
Scooter 01-27-2010, 07:30 PM ^^^^ Thanks, There's enough misery out there without causing more I think.

Look, I'm about as patriotic as they get, but this is not the time or the place for your comment. If you want to start another thread to help whoever, American or not, that's fine. But these comments on this thread are inappropriate. This is a thread to help out our fellow human beings. let's keep it focused on that.
To the OP, props for helping and I hope it works out. If I were closer I would go, I can't bowl for shit, but I would go.
08 Evo-X 01-27-2010, 08:21 PM Thanks everyone.. If you anyone in the tri-state area please pass the word

I think we should remember what FREDOM OF SPEACH is. Inappropriate, unrelated, unconnected, all those remember me socialist adjectives to critique something that they just don’t want to hear. He is just giving his point of view about the subject. And it is in deed a valid point of view, this country is in horrible situation, the worst of the history, I don’t see why in the world do you want to shut up somebody saying I don’t want to give any money!. Let the people talk I said, this is a forum.

Kooldino 02-03-2010, 05:40 PM Gentlemen,
Keep this on topic. This is not the time and place to discuss our country's issues.
If you'd like to support the mission at hand, by all means do so. If you don't have anything relevant to add, please move on.

Haiti appreciates everything the US & other countries are trying to do for them. If you we're out there you'd have very little tolerance too. Families are struggling, starving, some are forced to give up their children. Having to depend on military rations to get by and some are even eating sand! These are sad times for Haiti very sad times.

Alex
As a veteran I am very well aware of the First Ammendment to the Constitution. In fact I swore an oath to defend it... with my life. That said, there is a time and a place for everything. By coming ON THIS THREAD to voice his opinion, it's very much like going to someone's funeral and talking shit about them. The person may have been a bad person but that is not the time and place to talk bad about them.
If the OP comes back I would love to know the results of this fundraising effort as I am involved in the Haiti Relief Effort, both personally and professionally... Just as I was with Andrew, Katrina and Wilma.
Robevo 02-09-2010, 08:03 PM hehehe nice thread...
