Yesterday I went into HB Speed to get the new SSP Evo X Clutch Master Cylinder upgrade done. I just got an ACT clutch and flywheel installed last week and I didn’t want to risk running into any problems with the extra pressure it puts on the cylinder. When I received the part from SSP I was very impressed with the quality of the work they did to ensure this is the last clutch master cylinder we will ever have to buy. The thing is solid and just by holding it in my hand I know they didn’t cut any corners.

This was the first time HB Speed has done this installation, and it took them a little over 4 hours to do. In the future they said the job could be done in about 3 hours. If you’re like me and don’t work on your car all the time I would say to get the job done professionally. I watched as HB Speed was doing the installation and I was just thankful it wasn’t me who was doing the install. For being their first time doing it I was really impressed, the installer knew exactly what he was doing.

Now for my favorite part: the performance. I have to admit I was very skeptical being one of the first to try this part out. I was worried my clutch might not engage as well or wouldn’t feel “right” going from gear to gear. However, once I drove off from HB Speed I had a huge smile on my face. The new ACT Clutch I have actually engages BETTER than on the stock clutch master cylinder. I’m not exactly sure why it does, could be the upgraded clutch line, could be the upgraded springs, could just be from the fact that it’s stainless steel and not some cheap plastic, but the feeling as I push down the clutch feels more like it should’ve been from the dealer.

I would like to thank Jeremy from South Side Performance for his great customer service. I’ve been trying to get this part for a while now and he has been in contact with me everyday. When there was a delay he told me straight up why there was going to be one, and because of that I waited patiently. SSP knows how to treat their customers right, and I’m looking forward to buying parts from them in the future.
