Dax is injured, but should be back on the track next month. I'm going to need a new radiator and intercooler but I don't think there was any frame damage... I'll post pics and video myself.

But that's part the deal when you get as aggressive as I am on the track.

I think there were two factors on my part that led to my little mishap.

#1 this is the first event that I ran with the SS Braided brake lines and I'm still not used to threshhold braking with them. Not much of a chance on the street to do that. As I was coming out of the finish I could feel the ABS kicking in.

#2 I am guilty of doing what I tell everyone else NOT to do. I looked at the curb. Usually whenever you drive your hands follow your eyes. Where your looking is where you'll go. As I was braking I was looking at the curb instead of at an escape. So my hands followed my eyes...

Afterwards I did see a lot of people that were having the same issues but they either veered left or one guy even ran through the sidewalk ramp.

Anyway... More to come...

Thank you for coming and taking the challenge. As Scott said yesterday, at the beginning the only thing you see are cones flying every where but little by little you understand better. Again, what counts is taking the chance and enjoying the day.
I am very sad with Dax's injuries but she will come back stronger than ever. She is a real warrior.

Do not focus on the damage, take advantage of what you learned out of the experience. Anyway, seven years of AutoX without an incident look a little boring ;)

And yes, the first time you go out all you see is flying cones... after a few AutoXs your brain learns to decipher it all. Loooking back 6 years I remember how I was and how I am and honestly this course was a "little" hard for me to read but only on the first run. Plus I only got to walk it once since I work registration. but you do learn to read the cones after a few events.

Then you just have to worry about not getting OVER AGRESSIVE... LOL.

HAHAHAHAHA I drove a Lexus at a Driving event once... I think it was being compared to the Cadillac CTS or something... Treacherous car that!!

Well we just got back and what a great day.

Lady X took first place in her class (Of course she's the only one IN her class.). And I took 2nd place in BSP while driving the wife's X MR...almost stock (Cobb Flash)... on street tires... WOOOOOOO F**KING HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Equipe Rapide's 2nd Autocross of the season will be at Hialeah Horse
Race Track on APRIL 17th, 2011 SUNDAY.

If you look at the price, and compare, you will find we are now exceeding other autocross groups in amount of time on the track for the price! Talk about bang for the buck [$40 for members that preregister and $45 for non-members that preregister], with the 6 runs and practice [assume 20 runs, sorry, I lost count but it was around that amount], you end up with around 20 minutes of true autocross seat time, you can do the math. And, if you just want to run the main event, you're done by 1:00 PM so you don't have to stay out in the sun for hours on end.

Last time, we had 6 runs, finished around 1:30 PM, took a lunch break,
and then had fun runs until 4:30 PM for anyone who wanted to hang out
and test/tune the car. There is no other club more dedicated to the
Autocrosser and since 1958, Equipe Rapide Sports Car Club continues to
provide for the Autocrosser's needs.

Don't forget, Sunday, October 30th at Homestead Miami Speedway Kart
track, Equipe Rapide Sports Car Club will be holding event #7 autocross.

Preregistration saves you $5 and your registration is good for 6 months
if you can not make the event. Also, preregistration saves you time at
the registration desk from filling out the registration forms.

We have planned our usual 6 runs, then a break, followed by fun runs
[from what I have seen this year on how many runs you will get, bring
extra tires :) . Fun runs usually result in your getting about 10+ extra
runs]. During fun runs, we DO change the course, giving you a chance to
try out different setups, and help turn your car and/or your skills.

We have loaner helmets if you need them, and we have instructors if you
want help/assistance. ER looks forward to seeing you at the event.
