hotdog 02-06-2010, 09:57 PM There's a thread over in the 5-speed forum about the mix of oil Clipse used.
http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26132
Brings up some interesting points and thoughts.
Personally, I'm running the AMSOIL oil, and it works great, but it sounds like a mix of Redline viscosity is working better for Clipse.
boostin20 02-06-2010, 09:59 PM For the trans, I just used amsoil 85w-90 like a lot of other people here.
ScottSpeed21 02-07-2010, 02:43 AM I've been happy and have had no problems with Amsoil MTG 75w-90.
Red Dragon 02-07-2010, 03:58 AM The dealer will charge $150 for transfer case oil change.
^ In Instructions for changing the transfer case oil says to bleed the system with the scan tool. If you change your own transfer case oil then how do you bleed the system??
Edit: You dont need to bleed the system for a transfer case oil change. Bleeding the system is only for the acd.

Yeah, I always used Redline products in my cars. So I wanted to try AMSOIL I wasn't happy with it in my car and personally think that Redline fluids work better in Mitsu trannies. Not sure why but it has been my personal experience.
Clipse3GT 02-07-2010, 02:56 PM Transfer Case/Rear Diff
Rear Diff ATF you can use REDLINE ATF D4
DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT DIAQUEEN LSD SAE 90 GEAR OIL (get it online/dealer).
OTHER OILS DO NOT HAVE THE NEEDED ADDITIVES FOR THE MITSU CLUTCH PACKS...

For anyone else reading, the DIAQUEEN is for the transfer case.

Yes, Transfer Case and Main rear diff fill is DIAQUEEN.
The rear diff area plug that says ATF, you need to fill it with ATF. Redline ATF D4 meets this criteria.
logonzojls 02-07-2010, 05:16 PM im about to do my rear diff, but so far what im gathering is that the only acceptable oil for the rear diff is diaqueen. Right, nothing else?

Yes, use LSD Diaqueen Gear Oil.
There is one other one... look for my oil thread. IIRC it is made by Motul.
IndyEvo 02-07-2010, 05:29 PM i'm confused. what and what fluid to use. what all is there to change fluid in?
1. transmission
2. transfer case
3. rear diff
three systems with three different fluids.
braddddddd991 02-07-2010, 08:37 PM so, diaqueen for the trans case and diff,
and redline for the tanny, right?
