I was wondering if anyone has noticed their rear diffuser getting dull. If so, what have you guys used to return it to its original color and make it shine!

I've had my evo for about a year, we've had some rain out here in vegas. Maybe that is why it looks the way it does. Will armorall damage it or cause cracking when it starts to heat up out here?

I'm sorry man, but those are all terrible suggestions. Using Armor All or any tire-oriented product will ruin the part. Especially dark ones in the dead heat of summer....

The black is getting dull because it is beginning to oxidize. You need to remove the oxidation using Mother's Back to Black or some equivalent-not cover it up with an oil-based product.

Remember, it works as a polish. You need to rub it in, then wipe it off with a separate clean cloth.

I've heard that Armor All will dry up when it gets hot and cause cracking. The carbon fiber diffuser would be cool, but I'd rather buy some injectors right now.

I use mothers back to black as well, but I have to reapply it every time it rains hard or I wash the car. I follow the directions, but it never lasts very long. Maybe I just need like 40 coats of it over time.
Another thing, just like the rear diffuser my fog light housing, under the wing, and the side mirrors all are fading and require coats of back to black. Basically anywhere there is black plastic is fading, except the front grill piece.

I've used 303 Aerospace Protectant on my past two cars with great results.

Mother's Back to Back works well...I would not use Armor All, I have seen that stuff simply turn it more white as it heats up.

:+1:

Yeah this stuff is great for preventing UV fade and oxidation. I have never used the Mother's product so I can't comment, but Armor ALL FTL.
