Here is the things guys, my cousin is building a h22 hatch all motor. He said he should be able to smoke me easily at the track with slicks. He are his mods: H22, stage 2 brian crower cams, brian crower pistons, bolts on, tune, and 125 shot of nos. What do you guys thing the outcome will be?

If by "track" you mean 1/4 mile, he'd be really damn fast with slicks + light weight + NOS. I'd find it embarrassing to lose in a 40k car to a car worth less than my rims.

well i had a buddy with a CRX that had a h22 in it and that thing moved...i could almost be certain that unless your tuned...he would beat you even without spraying. i know the CRX is lighter but i dont think the civic hatch is too far. but can that car handle a 125 shot? im not too famaliar with how well hondas deal with nitrous.

Do not underestimate those civic hatches ... they handle amazingly and are amazingly light... If i had to live w/ a FWD it would be one of those or a Gen4 lude... once you deal w/ the wheelspin off the line them things can be real fast...

I wouldnt be too sure of a I/H/E Tune evo beating them on every track...

I know how fast Civic hatches are...I had a gutted and caged hatchback, Greddy 18G turbo kit, type R trans and motor. Shit was wicked fast after you got done spinning 1st-4th. Couldn't drive it in the rain or you'd die, obviously that takes snow out of the equation....and last time I checked FWD cars still suck in gravel (my friend drove my crx off a 15 ft embankment on gravel). So basically if the weather is good, and you build the crap out of it....you could beat a fairly stock Evo...:duh: And guess what.....at the end of the day you still got a FWD Civic :(

this is kinda diff but a guy in town had a hatch w a k20 swap w boltons and he runs low 13's. so that will give you an idea. there was 5 hondas at the track this past weekend w loud ass exhuast and all they could run was high 15's

haha the honda vs evo at a drag strip is just me being mad at how crazy fast those things are......well just cuz where i'm from everyone has built honda motors or turbo b-series that make hella noise.....i go with my friends to the track but you just gotta know who to race....my friend ran 15 flat in a hatch with just the b18 swap in it, then another guy in a stripped b20vtec crx ran high elevens.....but the 2.21 liter gt35r civic started "knocking" and didn't make it to the track....another ebay turbo hatch that would blow due to no way of regulating boost overheated on the way home......we talk alot of crap but at the end of the day, i still have a daily driven Evo.....so i'm happy.... and i can park wherever i want without getting jacked :)

Actually, with all the latest recalls from Toyota, Honda, and Nissan... It should be "used to make more reliable cars than what we have." Mitsu's recalls are mild compared to theirs right now.

As Jay Leno said, with all these recalls why is there still traffic on the road.

I have to agree with this... by the time you have hit these kinds of speed the cars are just shells with no real realtion to the car they were based on. Every part of the engine, suspension and transmission have been replaced or upgraded. Cages are added, safety equipment, etc. That goes for Hondas, Mitsus and everything else... Brent Rau's Eclipse bears no real relation to the street car.

No argument from me... I think cars should be compared based on Price. I expect a $100,000 dollar Porsche to outperform my stock MR. Plus different people want different things out of their cars.

I am a bit older and I appreciate what mitsu did for the Evo. It grew up a bit. Not to say I don't enjoy driving my VIII, but on long distance drives I can definitely appreciate the NAV and cruise controls in the wifes X MR.

I think what everyone here has been exposed to has jaded them a bit towards Hondas. Since they are inexpensive, they are easily accessible to the young and financially strapped crowd. Unfortunately these are the same dimwits that think that a fart can puts them in the same class as an Evo.

hell if I had to race in a straight line I would pic my 1500.00 civic to beat my evo by a embarassing amount. How ever since i allready had the civic when i bought the x I guess it shows that 1/8th or 1/4 mile do not do qanything for me. As a warning for knocking civic sohc motors using 80.00 vitara pistons and basicly ebay turbos are running in low 11s with a good driver

Pretty funny thread to read but as Shabarivas said, regardless of what kinda car you have, someone out there has a much better car than you. For some, it is a passion and commitment to a specific make or brand and others it is the best that money can buy. If those enthusiasts have a fast car passion on a broke down budget, then they do the best they can with what they got (sometimes a pretty damn good performance car regardless of its original value, credibility as a make/brand or lack thereof). It's all about a hobby and being an enthusiast. I had a civic as a teenager and did the whole hot import nights scene, then upgraded to a denali and did the whole DUB car show scene and now to the Evo X MR-T. All of it is a total waste of money, civic to evo's but in the end, we have and drive the cars we are passionate about at the moment and for that reason alone, you can't knock another man's passion. Now if he disrespects, then eat the rice hungry MF'er and throw the deuce out the window as u blow past him! :jk:
