Hey guys,

I don't have any Clutch Pedal Free Play. The clutch engageges at the top of the stroke and makes smooth transistions difficult. According to the owners manual I am alloted up to 1/2" of free play.

My experience is primary in DSM's. Using my past knowledge, I do not see pedal free play adjustment on the pedal/rod or under the dash. Does anyone have a tech manual that can look up the pedal adjustment rod/mechanism? My dealer is 100 miles away and this should be an easy adjustment to make on my own.

Also, has anyone else noticed how easily this clutch starts to stink? I mean as soon as I try to slip it, it starts to stink up. I hate the long transistion from engagement to disengagement

My wife noticed the 'stink' as well. But this was when she drove it home from the dealer showroom yesterday. She said she didnt notice any today. The car now has 30 miles.

Same here, I got the smell. But then after awhile the smell went away and everyting was fine.

The clutch takes a little bit to get fully used to, kinda wear on it a bit the first few rides probably lol.

its also a heavy duty clutch soooooo, yeah gotta get used to that, i know im not....yet.

no no no....i wish, i would have let yall know, but i ment it like when i get my evo, lol sry for the miss understanding, ive driven HDC i didnt have any prob really but i didnt like the "no slack" with clutch like im used to.

Sic, on anyone with an evo within 10 minutes of their dealer, can someone find out if the clutch free play adjustment is the rod connected to the clutch pedal itself?

I see a balljoint on it, I don't want to pop off the rod and then find out that wasn't the adjustment... can someone verify please?

Thanks for trying but nope it's not even remotely like that anymore. It's completely different!

I am not sure but i think it is a positive t/o bearing type.No free play in pedal.
My clutch also smells bad!!!!:wtfsign: 650 miles and it still stinks.

I personally wouldn't adjust my clutch to allow it more "free play" it is a heavy solid clutch meant to take abuse. I say just get used to it, I know lots of cars have mid medal grab points and make them easier to drive. I say try to adapt to the clutch first and if you are shifting properly there should be no issues (not saying your a bad driver or anything lol), if there is and your certain to depress the clutch fully at every shift then take it to the dealer and have them look at it, or ask them if its a common issue and will pass with time. I have bad news. The clutch is NOT adjustable. I am attaching a portion of the service manual that explains.
