I have never autocrossed before, but I am getting ready to do a few. watching all the cones fly by with no real visual reference points makes me dizzy.... Do most first timers look like idiots? Maybe I am just getting myslef all worked up...

When you start autoxing the only thing you see are cones flying by you. It was extremely hard for me learning how to understand the track, there are still days when I run out of it. Little by little I have improved, however, there is a lot still to learn. The most important thing is to be brave, get there and try it. Go ahead and enjoy th experience, it is amazing!

Lake County Technical Center (LCTC) in Tavares, FL

This event was put on by Martin Sports Car Club. We do monthly autocrosses, 10 per a year at LCTC and then 2 "Mini-Prix" at alternate locations. I actually helped host/setup the course that is in the videos.

Next months event is on April 11th at Lake County Technical Center again. Then in May we will be doing a "Mini-Prix" high speed autocross at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (assuming nothing falls through).

This year is the club's 50th anniversary. The club originated from Lockheed Martin employees.

+1

Also make sure you walk the course several times at the beginning of the day. My club has a "Novice" walk-through that is lead by an experienced instructor, and even many of the seasoned vets will participate to get some insight to the course prior to running their cars.

Whoa, the mini-prix sounds very atractive. Please keep me posted, probably Scooter and I can join you and enjoy the ride!

that was a pretty sweet course. i like when its wide open like that, unlike all the extremely technical courses im used to.
