: Cleaning Tips for Exhaust Tips?

Usually I use my Eagle One Nevr-Dull to clean up my tips once a month or during the winter season. This season, my Perrin tips got what look to be rust or water spots (??) on them, which Nevr-Dull isn't taking off at all. I don't want to keep pushing into the tips because I have a feeling I'll wear down the Perrin logos, as well. The Nevr-Dull wadding takes off the black spots very nicely, but I can't seem to get the little rust or whatever spots off (pics coming if my blackberry can grab them).

What do you guys do/use? It's only noticeable up close but it bugs the hell out of me. :) I think I let them sit too long between cleanings this winter!

Edit: Pic attached..you can see the spots I couldn't get off. Blech!

have you tried any bathroom cleaners that get rid of hard water stains?
maybe Mr Clean magic pads?

All I've ever done with chrome or S exhaust tips is wipe them off with a damp cloth. Like at the end of the car washing just use the same cloth and wipe the tips and rinse.

umm... Eagle One Never-Dull + Steel Woof worked fine for me. I had my exhaust on for almost a year, and only washed it about 3 weeks ago.

The first two pictures are before and the last three pictures are after.

oh, this is an exhaust for on regular Lancer, not an Evo X.

so in the mean time I did other things like polish the mufflers.

I did that with Meguiars Super Degreaser and 0000 steel wool to clean it up, then polished with Meguiars NXT All Metal polish. Here are some before and afters.

I don't know if this stuff would remove the Perrin logo, but if you could work around it, then it might work. It did a marvelous job for SiliconTek's SS exhaust tips.

I just read a thread by oakes about a 911 that he cleaned and what impressed me was how clean he got the exhaust tips. You may want to PM him. He used P21s products.

Not sure if it'll help with the water spots but I'd guess he would have the answer.
