: J. AppleSpeed's Song Of The Day
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-21-2010, 10:30 PM I'ma music lover, I'ma polygamist 'cause I'm married to many styles of music but if I hadda be a monogamist, gotta go with my 1st love and that's hip-hop...8 DAYS A WEEK, Y'ALL!!!
I stay diggin' in the crates, I don't stay tuned like I used to when I was younger but I still got my finger on the pulse of old skool (which is now regarded as "underground"), but if you consider people like Sadat-X, Pete Rock, or anybody from Wu underground, you're a freaking new jack and you needa do some homework, youngblood!
So in the spirit of promoting awareness for some of the best music most of y'all prolly never heard, I'ma try to post a song in this thread everyday.
Gimme feedback so I can getta feel for the vein of music y'all f*ckin' with and I'll try to stay in that lane just to make sure everybody gets their tastebuds shocked!
Anyway--without further adieu
21MAR2010 Song of the Day:
Rawcotiks - Going All Out
www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCIR-O0MMBc
I'ma start y'all off with a classic from a little known Dominican* duo known as The Rawcotiks...it's a 1998 promo joint. I 1st heard of these cats onna DJ Honda mixtape, I think...
Coke Music, daddy
*as corrected by KoolDino
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-21-2010, 10:39 PM It's already 22nd here in Afghanistan...
The song of the day is a super fresh remix of a track offa Soul Assassins' re-mixtape re-Intermission (original mixtape is just Intermission).
This track is a CERTIFIED BANGER!! Quality Product for the twenny-ten!!
RZA, Rev William Burk, Planet Asia, and B-Real - Intermission (DJ Swift remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK_U36P-kfY
This song is too fresh, I think it's gotta johnny cash-influenced guitar loop
SATimko 03-22-2010, 04:57 AM Neat. I'll make sure I check these out when I am home. It'll gimme something new to check out.
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-23-2010, 01:12 AM I'ma go out onna limb here...this is kinda experimental but it's from one of the most publicly received members of Wu after ODB and method man...
Ghostface Killah ft. Apocalypse Now and F.T. (Fuk That) - Porn Star
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QP7tY4H--I
The low-end frequencies got no representation in this video clip but if you get the actual audio clip, it goes extra hard in your speaker box... Very upbeat!!
Try this on for size, the first verse is hawt though, "...@$$ nekkid in my socks", ahahaha
SATimko 03-23-2010, 11:29 AM I knew this one prior to posting, and yeah... a nice sub definitely lets you feel what's hidden in bad audio quality copies.
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-23-2010, 09:51 PM I knew this one prior to posting, and yeah... a nice sub definitely lets you feel what's hidden in bad audio quality copies.
jiyeah, I'm not sure where I copped this song from, can't remember if it was an album or a mixtape... Not too much of my stuff is rare from after the turn of the millennium, but I got a lof rarities from right at the turn of the century...
Stay tuned!! It's only gonna get better...
I already got tomorrow's song picked out for y'all...sheeyit, why wait!! I don't wanna forget this banger...
I used Audacity (open-source) pro-editing tool to remove Black Thought's verse from this X-ecutioner's gem, 'cause that's the only part I really like listening to, haha!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1bhovBlCQ4
Black Thought effing destroys this, this is a clinic for mic mastery right here!!! Tomorrow will bring you guys some d-block!!
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-23-2010, 09:52 PM having issues posting this...hmmmm, moving on though!
This is one of my favorite squads, EVER!!!! They put out some really, REALLY fresh bangers and they were way slept on. I first got put onto them, diggin' for everything I could find from Primo (he produced one single for them "Lyrical Tactics" but I'm not sure if that's the official song title). Anyway, these cats came at the end of the golden era, they were like 97'ish and on through 2001 but the "durrty" south had done taken a hold of the industry.
INTRODUCING NATURAL ELEMENTS!!!
This song is called "Live It Up" and it's hawt to death!! Tommy Boy released a white-label remix which is dope as hayell too, it's basically just an uptempo version. I'ma post some more stuff from these guys 'cause they had some extra crispy music. This is ziplock 'cause it stays fresh...
this is just extra...apparently this song got play on the Black Mask (Jet Li) sound track. GOOD TO KNOW!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqMJy3cuU7M
Enjoy, Party People!!!
From Afghanistan with heart!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-24-2010, 11:19 PM I'ma put y'all onto somebody who's been around for a minute, got his jump with the Lox! Now the Lox have all pretty much gone their separate ways but they still crew 'cause they feature each other all the time...
Here it is, y'all!!!
HAWT OFF THE PRESS OF 4th Quarter 2009.
Sheek Louch - My Guns Go
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG1upgu2yPQ
If y'all are into instrumentals and fux with soundclick at all, you can see that the instrumental is a pitch-slowed version (more or less) of Schlas' "Dopest Rhymes" instrumental featuring hooks by B.I.G. and Raekwon.
This is chill status but it's extra proper!!!
Hope y'all are fuxin with this music as much as I am...

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-26-2010, 01:02 AM wut up, wut up, y'all?! It's kinda late for me posting...it's almost 0530 in the Aye-Em and my shift is drawing to a end.
Today's banger features three talented lyricists. Esoteric, from Demigodz, and C-Rayz Walz & Breez Evahflowin' (Stronghold fame with other artists such as L.I.F.E.Long, Stelf Index, Immortal Technique, and Diabolic).
Anyways, I like product from all three...Breez is dope but his beats tend to err on the "abstract/experimental" side and it's usually a bit too different for my tastes. I'm kinda conventional when it comes to instrumentation.
I've seen this song credited as "Devil Smasher" but I first came to know it from a mixtape and it was just "DJ Unknown Freestyle". Screwball also used this instrumental on their 2004 venture (can't recall album name but too lazy to look it up so you'll just have to take my word for it).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tixpr5dcBQc
The horns are stupid def and the freakin' bass line, sounds like a natural Cello is BANANAS!!! TABERNACLE!! Enjoy, Party People!!!
Faithful Hip-Hop head,
J. AppleSpeed
Kooldino 03-26-2010, 08:31 PM I dig the Rawcotiks track. You sure they're Cuban and not Dominican?
celica2evo 03-26-2010, 08:54 PM damn I just saw this thread!
this shit is hot to death!!!
Im gonna have to check this daily for my hip hop fix!
keep em coming bro!
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-26-2010, 10:22 PM I dig the Rawcotiks track. You sure they're Cuban and not Dominican?
You're right--Dominican...not sure why I thought Cuban. How couldju tell (unless you looked it up--which is what I'ma assume anyway)???

keep em coming bro!
I was starting to think nobody else liked Hip-Hop except me and satkimo...geeeez, and that other head who commented on my snowgoons post! If you didn't spy that thread yet, DON'T SLEEP!!! The video is outrageous!!
But thanks for the feedback, these are like my personal favorites...I got a really elite collection of rarities/remixes. So I'll be posting!! Stay tuned though...
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-26-2010, 11:29 PM Ah'ight, today y'all are gonna get spoiled with a double-header...two west coast bangers!!! Tomorrow I'ma take it back to the right and bring y'all some fresh @$$ East Coast magic...
Left Jab is gonna be Xzibit ft. Young De and Mykestro - Figure It Out (original off Soul Assassins' Intermission mixtape)...I HADDA POST THIS 'cause the video is pretty dope!! Not as good as the recent Snowgoons maneuver, but dope as hayell by today's standards, nonetheless!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nym7GgWfmE
Right Hook to finish the 1-2 is gonna be Strong Arm Steady (Xzibit/Talib Kweli affiliates) featuring Blaq Toven on the hook, and this song is called "Can't Let Go", this is a throwback right to that real-type of gangs'a g-funk era!! The melodious hook is reminiscent of Nate Dogg, pump this in your deck!! Guaranteed to catch looks...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGNL3lU8r-w
So tell your cousin Freddy so he'll flap them gums in the wind and tell all your friends...
These are too good to keep to yourself, hence the love!!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-27-2010, 11:22 PM This song is represented as Skeme Team presents "Non-Phixion (only Ill Bill & Gortex) & Arsonists (only Q-Unique & Jise-One) - 14 Years Of Rap". I don't know why 'cause Skeme Team ain't even in the mix...but I love me some Skeme Team and Brooklyn Academy, daddy!!!
Anyway, this video is dope, this is from like '98 again (I believe could be off by +/- year) and it's tooooooo fresh. The symphonic instrumental just sounds EVIL!!! These boys do the damn thing on the track though and serve the mic proper.
Enjoy!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-29-2010, 12:14 AM losing steam...I'm posting later and later everyday, I almost forgot and I'm not sure if it's 'cause I got more stuff on my plate or if I'm losing interest. I'ma try to be faithful to this though, I hope people are watchin' otherwise this'd be all for naught.
Today, I'ma break y'all off with some production from across the pond...a cat from the far east named Nujabes has been layin' down some sick remixes with original production. First joint from Nujabes (Seba Jun) I'ma put y'all onto is called "Blessin' It", it's the remix...I've never heard the original. This song features Pase Rock (Five Deez fame) and Substantial (Extended F@mm, www.qn5.com) and this is sooooo damn jazzy, I love this. It's got horns, pianos, strings...very organic but I'm guessin' it's synthetic but it sounds natural. It's a beautiful instrumental really...very head-nodic
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIskTtctvtg
enjoy!
I couldn't find Nujabes' remix of Jay-Z's "American Dreamin'" but if you can, good for you 'cause that's a dope song. I can't really listen to Jay-Z except when people remix his stuff.
P3@cE!
J. AppleSpeed your friendly neighborhood hip-hop supplier!!
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-30-2010, 06:12 AM What it do, party people?! I hope that this year has been proper for y'all...I noticed a lot of people having issues this year. It's a trip, man...people are havin' problems, it's gettin' real for a lot of people. It's a sobering idea...
Anyway, I'ma intro y'all to some music that's P3@cE! and FROM FLORIDA(???), but it's 100% raw, authentic, good ol' fashioned boom bap for your ear piece!!! This is just plain good music, period!!
Two songs--same crew, very VERY dope!!!
Discovered this squad back in late '07, not sure how...I think surfin' youtube videos.
The crew is Cyne!!
1st cut - is "First Person", this is JAZZY AS HAYELL!! It's even gotta xylophone on the set. Word to your maternal unit!! Some real vibrant organ synths, this is too good for your auditory. ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlWah7DBco0
2nd cut - "Running Water", this features a dope piano loop and what sounds like a cello for the bassline, very nice!! Snare's are simple, very easy to get into!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZROFPUlfqY
word is bondage!!!
From me to you, evoxforums--or whoever's payin' attention.

SATimko 03-30-2010, 01:42 PM Nice. I was out of town for a while and am just now trying to get caught up on this. Ya know... you can't just listen to each one once. Gotta listen a few times to get as much as you can out of it.
Keep 'em coming man.
celica2evo 03-30-2010, 02:01 PM Im gonna go ahead and dub you DJ JAS for the forum(johnny AppleSpeed)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2lWaDmJwtc
dude, that's whassup--I can't peep it over here at this office, but when my relief gets here, I'll peep it at the other office!! REFLECTION ETERNAL!! you know they recently dropped a new mixtape. you might be able to cop it from http://beatboxradioshow.blogspot.com
There's another blog I check regularly, http://scarberiaoriginal.blogspot.com (http://scarberiaoriginal.blogspot.com)
They don't update as much as beatbox but sometimes they get the jump on to me what is better product. They have a lot of contributors at beatbox and, in my opinion, they listen to a lot of real soft, watered-down kinda music but there's a couple contributors that are on-point...to each their own though.
Stay tuned!! I'm not sure what I'ma post for y'all today but rest assured it's gonna be a goody!!
Actually, I think I'ma put y'all onto a li'l gem from Ras Kass!
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-30-2010, 07:08 PM cant see any of these vids cuz im at work. recognize a lot of those names but not all. im a hip hop head and suggest you check out (unless you already have) Rhymesayers Entertainment and Def Jux, good indie rap. and some white dudes that can spit! also try black milk!
I been with rhymesayers from the jump, man...
In fact, I'll post a double-header for you. The rhymesayers used to do a lot of stuff with Anticon (bay area crew of Dose One, Jel, Sole, and Alias) and I'll give you some Ras Kass with a relatively unknown gem from Slug, Eyedea, and Sole. You'll like it.
eyedea, brother ali, (Slug, Spawn, Stress, and DJ Ant) = the ORIGINAL ATMOSPHERE!!! From the Headshots series Se7en effort... yeah, uhm, Def Jux is a li'l too experimental for me. I tried to get into Company Flow, but I never really good. El-P's production style is too experimental for my tastes, and Aesop Rock--man that guy got weird. However...I think Def Jux put out C-Rayz Walz's RaviPops album and that was prolly his best release to date.
I've got some stuff from blakmilc, he's got a super ill track with Royce Da 5'9 and Guilty Simpson. Eff it, I'ma bless y'all with three tracks today. I gotta stop talkin' 'cause when y'all drop names...I start thinking about the bangers I got from 'em. Makes me relisten and then I gotta share the goodness.
celica2evo 03-30-2010, 09:11 PM damn I knew this thread would pick up...look over 230 viewers so far!
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-31-2010, 04:09 AM today's first hit is from Ras Kass featuring Sideline (unknown), I think Funkmaster Flex produced this absolute banger of a track, very poppy but dope as all effing what!! It's called "Kiss Of Death"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvNC7IEQrxs
Next joint is for sti, this is an ode to your rhymesayers and is a very dope track, EYEDEA's verse is so effing proper!!! It's dope as hayelll, his whole verse is in letter form to extraterrestrials, he stays on point the whole verse too. Very sick!! sound quality is garbage but I didn't see many options for this rarity. Sorry Credits are as follows: Slug, Eyedea, Sole - Savior
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce1qmlIGTr8
Last joint for today is Royce Da 5'9 (dude's got some dope stuff) with Guilty Simpson and Blakmilc (I've seen so many variations of this spelling) and it's called "Sound The Alarm (remix)" and I believe it's produced by statik selektah...man, that dude is $$$$ on the boards, very underappreciated producer, in my humble opinion.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-E7b-lsvdY
sorry that all the sound qualities are garbage, y'all. You could prolly find somethin' better if you dig in them crates on youtube.
Tomorrow, I'ma bring y'all some Black Thought and Mos Def (one of my favorite tracks of 2008).
P3@cE! & hair grease

STItoEVOX 03-31-2010, 04:18 AM haha thats true bout the name drops bringin back other bangers. and pick up royce da 5'9s new cd, theres a handful of killers on that album.
and i had to drop one last gem, the shit that got me into underground at all, Deltron muthafuckin 3030.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-31-2010, 07:06 AM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE-ranjP0YY
Perverted Monks, I know Afu Ra is a member, I think Jeru The Damaja, and maybe one other guy??? damn, I'm sorry...
I like this though, it's pretty cool. I got this in like 2001, goodness gracious. on www.audiogalaxy.com BEST way to get music EVER (after napster--who remembers that??? I'm guessing the youngbloods would be like napster wha'??). But audiogalaxy was hawt secs since you could download files from other users and once a file was transferred via their proxy, they stored a copy of it on servers online, so then it was forever available to others. GENIUS!!! Yeah, that site went offline too, they started charging just like napster. =(
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-31-2010, 07:12 AM hey DJ...lemme break you off with one
this is one of my old school favs.
Talib Kweli & DJ Hi-Tek its called "The Blast"
you catch the might mos cameo at :42?? Wearin' the fedora, in classic mos style...
Dude, I like Mos Def's delivery better but Kweli puts out more quality material. Mos jumps on some wack beats, in my opinion but he's a good lyricist.
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-31-2010, 07:24 AM haha thats true bout the name drops bringin back other bangers. and pick up royce da 5'9s new cd, theres a handful of killers on that album.

dude, Dan The Automator had this one sample that was pure fire, I can't remember what the song was from the D-3030 album. I love the song Mastermind though, that was my favorite...sheeeyit, I'll find it on youtube.

1:10-1:32 is alls I need...
daaayum, this kweli joint got me thinking of all kinds of stuff to post but I don't wanna just dump too many tracks on y'all at once, 'cause you'll likely get bored. I'll forget if I don't post though...
I needa make a list of tracks to post up and scratch 'em off as the days pass. And thus began the start of AppleSpeed's music bucket list...
this is only gonna get bigger before it gets smaller =\
celica2evo 03-31-2010, 05:33 PM aight DAS I got somethin u might enjoy.
I know he's mainstream as fuck now but this was way before success, when he for real was spitting some dope shit.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-01-2010, 12:32 AM I'm bringin' y'all top two of Ohio's finest lyricists, ain't nobody from the Oh-aitch f*kkin' with them, 'cause truth be told...these two are in my top 10 lyricists. Solid delivery and both got punchlines that are out this world, they are consistently droppin' wordplay that is just off the scale like a fat girl's weight.
Introducing...Jakki and Copy. Copy got his intro via Smut Peddlers (rawkus production), which was Cage, Mr. Eon, and Mighty Mi (Cage is a Def Jux artist now I believe), on a song called Tower of Babble. One of the songs features Camu Tao, I know for a fact he collaborated with def jukie artists on the regular. He recently passed away either in late '08 or early '09.
I been feelin' Copywrite for a long time but I found my appreciation for Jakki with his 2003 12" single "I'm Trying", the beat is a grimey piano loop with some bass synths and just like 4 minutes of raw lyricism. "get in my hair, I'll color you red--don't care if you die [dye]"
"kick lines only God could produce/
so sick I spit lines with a doctor's excuse" hahaha, I love the doctor's excuse

There will be more from these artists, trust that!!! "We Run This" is PRIME!!!
I almost forgot to deliver y'all to the promised land. Here's "Rising Down" by The Roots ft. Mos Def & Styles P.
THIS IS STRAIGHT CRACK!!!
Feed it to your brother, your mother, your sister, your neighbor, your neighbor's dog...push this 'cause it's raw and it's quality.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0VsHyqxhio
Black Thought effing destroys this track AGAIN!!! Big surprise with B.T. tearin' it down, right?
From me to y'all, this is definitely one of my favorites...good song for workin' out.
celica2evo 04-01-2010, 04:26 PM ah shit DJ

had to pump it a couple times!

Apathy is another Demigod product, if not THE demigod product...he's also down with Army Of The Pharoahs and is undoubtedly the nastiest emcee of either squad. Son's a microphone bully...
Apathy - Checkmate
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QgOvwdoIWas
I think the sample looped for the instrumental came from Genesis, song called "dancing with the moonlit knight".
Next piece is Apathy ft. Tak offa fort minor mixtape (pre-album) called "Bloc Party" and Apathy just melts the mic on this.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-04-2010, 06:44 AM This was the first blend (more commonly known as mash-ups these days but if you talk to true DJ who knows what vinyl is, then it's a blend--ACT LIKE YOU KNOW) I ever heard...(actually 2nd, I had heard this sick Big Pun blend with this dope ass tropical/caribbean type of instrumental--which I'm still tryin'a find to this day)back in '99, I was a Napster fiend!!
This is prolly one of the best blends I've ever heard too considering that it uses a legendary song (smooth criminal) with some pretty damn good verses by the Wu (u-god, inspectah deck, and raekwon) and Havoc (Mobb Deep).
DJ Autopsy ft. Wu & Mobb Deep - Smooth Criminal (remix)

Another joint I wanted to share with y'all today is from Jedi Mind Tricks (Vinnie Paz, formerly Jus Allah, and Stoupe). Vinnie is the one with the raw vocals and Jus Allah ain't on this effort but Stoupe brings some sick production on the boards for this gem.

Blame One - Blame Me
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIqMpdrgIFs
Everything about Blame Me is extra crispy...
Next joint is dope as hayell too, it's Big L, Big Pun, Notorious B.I.G., & Stack Bundles - Heart and Soul of New York City (DJ Cinema remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpQU4x4e9Bs
the instrumental is very chill, very summer, top down, cruisin' the beach type of joint.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-07-2010, 04:30 AM Damn dude you are a true hip hop head. Most guys I know outta Houston are not that diversified. Any slim thug posts in the future? Besides the pres of the south Bun B, slim is probly my favorite TX artist.
Real talk, I don't really follow Houston's scene no more 'cause, in my opinion, they got hip-hop extra dumbed down. I don't like what the South did to hip-hop, a bunch of mufukkas that got ignorant with bling bling videos and kids thought that isht was cool. Whatever though...
Uhm, I still listen to all the stuff I listened to growing up, but not much of the new stuff. I remember Screw comin' onto the scene in late '95 and early '96.
The houston cats I used to follow or still do were like Scarface, some Getto Boys, Tela & other Rap-A-Lot records artists (yukmouth from Luniz???), Most Hated, South Park Mexican, I kinda dug Fat Pat for a min but got off that quick. Then we kinda follow the louisiana scene since we're so close.
That was Master P back when he was with Tru, used to listen to a lot of No Limit in their early days. And then of course been with U.G.K. since their sophomore effort. I'ma post you a real sick No Limit/U.G.K. collab.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zkwtLdCcQQ
Say whatchu want about No Limit, but this song is EFFING CRACK!!!
Here's another U.G.K. gem, you prolly heard it though...

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-08-2010, 12:04 AM Bringin' y'all a chi-town staple (prolly not familiar but anybody who's got their ears open knows 'em), and they're All Natural and the song is "Elements Of Style". Very, very jazzy...nice bass line, smooth, xylophone adding to the melody, very good stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgbD8MHyqzc
I'ma break y'all off with another underground favorite from Binary Star's Master of the Universe album. Binary Star is One-Man Army and Senim Sillah and they used to collab with a lot of chicago artists, one namely J.U.I.C.E. (famous for ripping eminem in the rap battle olympics (I think that was the tourney) in '98). Truth be told though, Eminem has a wack battling style, very very forced but he's got nice lines, just hard to listen to him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO_7aCDyKDc
And here's my favorite track from J.U.I.C.E.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YUV6NMbOJg
and since I'ma damn heathen with no restraint, one more Chi-town emcee from Typical Cats (galapagos 4 records), QWEL!!! Face Value has such an ill instrumental, Qwel just talks all kindsa isht. "You couldn't beat me to death if I letchu jump first" - Qwel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxhd89eed3A
I just can't help myself, I start off with one and then gotta share two more.
Somebody stop me...I'ma effin' problem!!!

go there and download the Diabolic - Liar & Thief album ASAP, listen to Order & Chaos with Ill Bill, dude, ya boy billy idol from Non-Phix has been gettin' on some real-type of unfuckwithable instrumentals lately. Enjoy it!!
If you never heard of Diabolic, he's sick with word play and he's got some cleverly structured rhyme schemes and his delivery is dope. He's one of my top-10 too. He once said "if I gotta take a fall, I'm bringin' heaven down with me" NUTSOOOO!!
here you go, lazies...

TWO POINTS for the first man (or woman--do we get female hip-hop heads on this forum???...right, best not to reveal your identity, you will get molested with the attention sorely--STAY IN HIDING) who can identify where the sample looped for the instrumental is from, I'll give you a clue!! Jolly Roger's a close relative...
Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-10-2010, 02:38 AM been M.I.A....sorry!
Today I'ma bring y'all some Canadian products.
First is from a perennial favorite of mine, cat named Classified and I been fuxin' with this dude from the jump, back in like '98/'99. He's real consistent with good music releases, some albums are just floor-ceiling dope and others, just a couple pieces of furniture in the cave. Classified - It Ain't Over
he's gotta lotta good music out there, but I'ma pimp somethin' I think will move your average, fairweather hip-hop fan... Anybody can appreciate this joint.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y00gZmRWVbM
Next is a dude named K-Os and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song...it's got some kinda Indian stringed instrument that is just utterly intoxicating. I think Primo produced this, but I could be wrong...it was definitely offa one of his cornerstone mixtapes, possibly the first volume.
Song is actually called "love song", and I admit--I've never seen the video for it, but it's pretty cool. Nothing new but it's gotta poppy vibe but it stays pretty 4-elements, b-boys, boomboxes, and the like.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nozsD0iWqrk
Gotta give it up for our neighbors up North, y'all. Enjoy!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-11-2010, 06:17 AM a li'l bit of old mixed with a li'l bit of new...
first the new, this is off the new "Rise Up" album from Cypress Hill, and I really dig it. It's gotta feel-good type of vibe to it and if you ask me, that's quality product there. This is the kinda hip-hop that'll move units...DJ Muggs (although not certain he produced this) has not been disappointing the past couple years. I'll share two more vids, one will demonstrate why Muggs is a effing monster on the boards. Anyway, we'll get to that later...
Cypress Hill - Get It Anyway
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mv7N-h7oZE
This next joint would definitely get play on best songs of all-time playlist. I love this song, man! One of best songs of 2005, in my humble opinion.
Grandmasters (GZA & DJ Muggs) ft. RZA & Raekwon - Advance Pawns
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk4RTJzmlgo
Love this next joint! This was back when Xzibit used to just open up shop and shut the competition down. I love me some old school X to the Z.
Dr. Dre ft. Xzibit & Eminem - What's The Difference
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PANEcjhSfv4
Some of my favorites, and I hope y'all fuxin with them as hard as I have and do!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-12-2010, 01:47 AM I think this genre of music is called "rap core"?? The blend between rock and hip-hop. As popularized by acts such as Run DMC and Rise Against The Machine, Limp Bizkit, etc.
Anyway, this is a bit different but I really dig it. I hope y'all feel it too...
Dead Celebrity Status - 5 Deadly Fingers
The guitar synths are pretty ingenius, the producer did a good job. Props!!

One more for your hearing pleasure! Das EFX with a Pete Rock remix of "Jussumen". FIIIIIIRE!!!

I tried to find a video for Mellow Man Ace ft. Sen Dog (cypress hill fame) - Vengo A Cobrar but I couldn't. If y'all can find a copy or video, please share 'cause that song is a new drug.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-12-2010, 11:07 PM first joint is a banger from '96, some of y'all will know it...some of y'all won't and that's why I'm postin' it, 'cause it's the spirit of this thread.
This joint is very heavily quoted, especially the part talkin' about "actors with a record deal tryin'a play the part"...some of you prolly already know what's comin' based off that line alone.
Xzibit - Paparazzi
This man don't need no further introduction, so without further adieu...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev7cosF_ueA
That song is CERTIFIED CLASSIC!!! A modern day classic...
This next squad, happens to have put out one of my all-time favorites...it's a song I go back to time and time again, 'cause it's just that good!! This crew had several cameos of their song "Fingerpaint" in the ESPN original series "Playmakers", I recall a specific scene with cuba gooding jr.'s brother inna club and this song was playin' the background.
The crew = Zion I
where = Bay Area (I think Oaktown)
when = The year was 2000
and this song just bombed me out my seat, their entire Mind Over Matter album experimented with D&B, so y'all dub heads, APPRECIATE!!
Zion I - Trippin'

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-15-2010, 04:00 AM Legendary Juice Crew (Marley Marl, Kool G Rap, Masta Ace, Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, Tragedy Khadafi (then known as intelligent hoodlum), MC Shan (N.W.A.), and Craig G). member Masta Ace gets it on with Jean Grae (pumpkinhead's sister), who in my opinion is a dope femcee although she only lends her talent for a hook on this effort.
Masta Ace ft. Jean Grae - Soda & Soap
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlNEM1oR4ZE
Next, is a crew, likely unknown to y'all, known as the Icons and they're a cali-based production. This song is freaking fresh, mang!! Enjoy it, y'all!!
Icons - Who I Am
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMI7vmgPJdc
The guitar in that is interesting, hard to identify the origins but if I hadda guess. I'd say Indian, maybe. Props to anybody who might know and coincidentally following this thread while reading what babble I put up for y'all. Sometimes I feel like I'm talkin' to myself. THE LIFE OF A RADIO DJ IS ROUGH!! Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-15-2010, 11:05 PM y'all already gotta taste of J.U.I.C.E. on KGB collabo with Binary Star, here's a sick-nassy single called "Coronation", I forgot who produced it but this is hawt to death!! Chicago's undisputed freestyle champ...I don't think he's ever lost a battle???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InzymPE_Lrc
Then I'ma bring y'all a laidback, chill in the cut type track. It's dissing commercial music and all the superficial but it's dope sauces and extra crispy and a half. they're a duo out of the Bay Area, where exactly--I'm not sure. But this song is fire from the center of the earth itself.
Mission - Disturbing Behavior
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrIu5BKLGTc
Apparently they're now known as the Crown City Rockers (I'm more familiar with them--Rashaan Ahmad), anyway they're from Boston but ended up Bay Area. Originally Misison back in beantown and then relocated to West with a name change.

SATimko 04-16-2010, 02:09 PM So after listening to that guitar part that you mentioned... What I'm hearing is a single coil pickup... like a Fender Strat playing with a high gain amp (or effects pedal) with some heavy chorus and there's something else in there. I can't put my finger on it. I know that I can replicate that sound...and I know what I need to do... but I can't figure it out right now! Hahaha. But that's the guitar nerd in me.
Keep 'em coming man! Gives me something fresh to listen to at work.
Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-17-2010, 01:25 AM I'ma bring you two joints from Smoke of Oldominion. This cat's got some dope solo tracks...

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-17-2010, 11:10 PM First song today is one of the favorites among my favorites, it's from Boston MC Slaine (La Coka Nostra and apparently DMS too but I think DMS might be over). The song is called "DMS Anthem" and it samples some guitar from AC/DC's "Hell's Bells" and, if you ask me, I think it's dope as f*ck!! You can find this in the evidence archives 'cause this just KILLS!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CINDYt8XZKk
Since I'm on the topic of La Coka Nostra, I'm posting another LCN song. La Coka Nostra has members Dani Boy and Everlast from House Of Pain, and they also get B-Real to cameo sometimes, they got Ill Bill (Non-Phixion fame) and Big Left (also from DMS); there might be other members but those are the main ones. And they make some pretty damn good music.
La Coka Nostra - Death & Destiny
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GXwYdt3deU
The guitar that plays background to the hook is funky DOPE!!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-19-2010, 04:09 AM Dayum, people--get vocal so I can give the people what they want. I mean I know I'm posting good music but it makes it easier for me to decide what to post instead of guessing. I'ma post another banger off the new cypress hill and then a joint from Everlast. Either way, it's some feel-good hip-hop!!
First is called "Carry Me Away" and features mike shinoda
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dP4iRw_du_Y
I dig this a lot, very chill--again the guitar's doin' it for me, this recent spray of guitar-laden tracks might be satisfying my rock urges.
Another guitar banger follows in "Stone In My Hand" by Everlast, off his last album. IT'S TOO DOPE!!! Very catchy!! The hook is good and my man everlast can strum a guitar like nobody's B.I.
Enjoy!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-20-2010, 05:54 PM 1st joint is pretty cool, I like the hook--it's very energetic. It's another song featuring Slaine but the main artist is Sicknature, the song is called "Never Say Never At All", it's a good song for working out.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drZvI1UcWLE
Next, I'ma post up some Ill Bill ft. Immortal Technique & Max Cavalera (sepultara) and Max screamin' on the hook sounds cheesy but I've played this for other hip-hop heads and they agree that this is pretty raw, so it's safe to assume that this is fresh music. Crack tunes for your fix....

You know, I didn't really care for the song at all during the hook when I first heard it but then I listened to it for like an entire workout and it grew on me. Now I like it--the instrumental is from Van Helsing the movie, I think it's sick now.
Here's today's flavor in your ear!!
Terror Squad - FunkMaster Flex 60 minutes of funk freestyle
This is just hawt to death!!! Terror Squad had some insanely underappreciated lyricists. The rhyme structure of these cats all emulate Pun and he's a effin' Microphone Monster!!

Does it have to be inna specific video format or do they automatically convert audio formats into like a blank video?? Just curious, 'cause then I could upload a lot of really rare stuff that I just can't find on youtube.

What I usually do is queue my entire hip-hop folder into winamp and through shuffle on there 'til I find somethin' I think y'all would like.
Today's banger is from Sole (anticon), D-Stroy (Arsonists), and Mr. Complex (independent), and this particular gem is called "3 Guys In A Bar", it's DOPE AS F*CK!!! This song is saturated with swagger...100% pure, uncut hip-hop. Very jazzy...

Next we got a remix of the gary jules version of "mad world" originally performed by Tears For Fears (one of my fav 80s crews) done by a Rawkus latch-key child who, in my opinion, has some really fresh music. I like his songs "soul sister" and "For The Love", which after I get this music encoder for youtube, I will post for you guys since I can't find. 'til the next episode...let this hold you over!

Not bad; it sounds kinda generic compared to a lot of Wu, reminds me of 36 chambers a lot. I did like that Common Tekzilla joint a lot though, very good!! Common's flow and rhyme scheme was solid onnit. Props for that, 'cause I never heard it before and now I think I should find it for download.
I did find this in the related links and I gotta admit that i think it's piff...lemme know.

I'm kinda shocked you din't like the Live Poets joint (sole, d-stroy, complex), but to each their own. I really like that song and I know it's kinda lo-fi but I think it's great.
Have you ever heard Prime ft. Common - While I'm Dancin'??? I couldn't find on youtube but remind me and I'll upload it for you. I think you'll like it, it's gotta grimey sample that reminds me of the Peanuts when they used to jam on the piano and they'd all just lose it. Good product, actually...
celica2evo 04-26-2010, 12:33 PM lol
thats kinda crazy that you just put that song out there for me cuz i was gonna post it up for you!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 04-28-2010, 09:21 PM I'ma have to find a different way to encode .flv files 'cause the one I tried to use yesterday wasn't successful, either that or the low bandwidth out here (possibly firefox presentation incompatible with youtube's code and couldn't upload file properly); something prevented me from successfully uploading a sick remix of 2 Pac's "When I Get Free" remix... A lot of the cats on this board wanna act anti-hip-hop culture, so I got my doubts, but when y'all heads come out and let me know what's good, it keeps me inspired. I was hoping to expand horizons for some people who don't know real hip-hop, but I get the idea that they're too closed-minded to try somethin' new.
I'm definitely posting today. I do need to figure out a reliable way to upload new songs though. 'cause I'm sittin' on stacks of good product that I can't find on youtube.

here we go...
1st is from an old school group, they're well-known with the older heads but didn't blow up so likely unknown to the newer generations since this doesn't make your usual MUSIC-NOW VOL 12192812 cd. ;)
FunkDoobiest - Rock On
This song is sooooo effing chill and I hope y'all appreciate the serene instrumental, they say music tames the savage beast. So queue this up and just unwind, yo'... Everyday's a battle, get rested!!! This is music for the soul.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wz_Fir2p5gg
Next, we got some Army Of The Pharoahs (too lazy to cataloque which emcees are on this track and in what order--sorry), but this joint is called "Don't Cry" and it's dumb chill too. I guess I'm inna chill-mode right now. I'm sorry, but I just gotta let y'all know...I got mad heart for Cali birds. Them girls might be 'superficial' but they take care of themselves, props to them cali ladies. I met this dame and hooooweee, talk about stuff that dreams are made of. I'd let her be onna magazine cover for my car... haha, no more digression.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 05-03-2010, 03:22 AM Iunno which day we're on anymore...all the days out here are the same.
Here's a couple more to hold you over. I am seriously having issues finding an .flv encoder and the one song I did try to upload UMG effing blocked it, it's a slick ass rare remix of Tupac's "When I Get Free". I have never even found a legitimate listing for it, so Iunno the effin' deal there.
anyway, here's one of my favorite workout songs... The piano and the bass synth go extra hard. The Rebel INS SHUTS IT DOWN!!! "...flame throwa, take aim--it's game over/ ayatollah, high rolla, 9-toter/ mind controlla, 2009 time quota..." haha, nasty rhyme structure
U-God ft. Leathaface, Inspectah Deck, and Method Man - Rumble

I been fuckin' with Silly Puddy since 2000 and that's a good post!! I would've posted it sooner or later, so props for beatin' me to it!! That song contains my favorite Grouch verse...but breath is pretty sick though.
The Immortal Technique joint wasn't bad, but it doesn't stand out compared to his other stuff.
I was digign' the Jimmy Cliff joint though!!
here's my posts for the day!!
Elix ft. Charon Don (I found this just sampling random singles from this mailorder catalogue I used to eff with back in the hey (www.sandboxautomatic.com what up?--fuckin' with them since like 1999)...anyway, I think Elix is a Philly implant, I'm not sure though)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVzEZq3SigE
Next joint is WhiteShadow ft. RipShop - You Don't Want
check for :53 I love those horns, either trumpet inna really low freq or possibly even some kinda viola *shrugs*

Johnny_AppleSpeed 05-31-2010, 06:07 AM Of course I've heard of Tech N9ne, I'll post some pretty slick joints I got from him. The first one I heard way back in the hey, and it's prolly his best lyricism besides what he had on the Anthem from Sway & King Tech's "This Or That" compilation.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 06-07-2010, 06:34 PM We might have to hold funeral services for this thread...
There've been some reorganizations at work affecting my schedule and requirement of my presence in other offices where I can't access youtube (to find songs to post) but can still access this forum. This is why I've been active on the board but this thread hasn't gotten any love in like a week...
Apologies to anybody who was checkin' this thread on the daily. If my schedule permits, I'll try to find access to youtube and keep this thread alive. There's too many artists out there not gettin' the exposure they deserve...
Again, sorry--I enjoyed posting music for y'all, especially with the positive feedback. I was just tryin'a show y'all a different kinda hip-hop than what MtV would have y'all believe is out there...
I COULD continue the spirit of the thread by listin' artist and song titles... But without the video, it's not the same. Y'all gotta get out there and dig.
I'll leave y'all with some good sites to check for music, if you want a good hip-hop fix. I used to looooove hiphopgame, I discovered a lot of really, REALLY fresh artists through them. And sometimes they have like a classic reference to some really nice piece of hip-hop history. They are highly recommended, I can't really fuck with them no more (until I get back to the states and high-speed internet) 'cause their site is bandwidth intensive, streaming and what not. (most times when I posted youtube videos, I wouldn't even stream the full song, just enough to confirm its legitimacy.
www.hiphopgame.com (http://www.hiphopgame.com)
www.datpiff.com (http://www.datpiff.com)
http://beatboxradioshow.blogspot.com
http://scarberiaoriginal.blogspot.com
if you guys want, in the interim, I'll drop artist names and song titles, but you'll have to do the digging this time...I can't do it for y'all anymore. I don't have a problem with this, 'cause I ain't goin' anywhere. Lemme know what's good. Maybe one day, I'll host an FTP (once I settle down in one country), and y'all could getchur meat grabbers on the goods once & for all.

song is hawt to deaf, too bad the rest of the album was more or less a big snore!!!
Johnny_AppleSpeed 10-14-2010, 06:37 AM long over due...hope this'll hold y'all over for a minute longer!!
Y'all have heard some of Q-Unique (Arsonists fame) in some of my previous posts, but here's some of that fire from the gods off his new album.
Q-Unique - BK, BX, BK (prod. Q-Unique)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0X9ua56L-FE
Q-Unique ft. D-Stroy (Arsonists fame too) - On My Block (prod. Rob Flow)
This one is bouncy as hayell, listen to the deep sub synth...it should bump inna system!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9z1RQriBlg
I'ma give y'all another Q-Unique solo, but this is from his first solo album, Vengeance Is Mine! One of my all-time favs...it's good, very melancholy and almost cynical but good!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5VM-sjWkKA
Here's a cat I never heard of before, Mac Miller but his mixtape had like 30000 listens, and 20000 downloads and was holdin' a 5-star rating. I only sampled the first track and this is it. If this is an indication of what's to come, I know it's gonna be fire 'til the end. I actually did listen to another track and it was straight too...he's a young emcee in the game, but he's proper!! Give 'im a listen...
Mac Miller - Kickin' Incredily Dope Shit (K.I.D.S.) Intro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7tHnbqb8eE
Johnny_AppleSpeed 10-18-2010, 06:31 AM Some more Mac Miller, this one's called "Knock Knock" and it's got an incredibly phresh instrumental!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS36IOdrAsg
If you don't get it the first time--then give it another listen, 'cause you're missing something if you don't feel that.
Allow me to introduce you to a modern-day supercrew, in the likes of Joell Ortiz (if you ain't know this cat yet, GET FAMILIAR), Royce Da 5'9, Joe Budden, and Crooked I. BY THEIR POWERS COMBINED...they're SlaughterHouse!!
Here's "Move On":
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95oAqGQM-Ss
I'm not a big fan of Game, especially since seein' him get exposed on some love game show, lookin' soft as Alfonso Ribeiro in Fresh Prince, but this song goes so damms hard!!! THIS SONG IS EXTRA!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PFRCr0Mvbs
Joell Ortiz - Food For Thought (the instrumental borrowed from Boot Camp Clik's "Smile In Heaven")

Johnny_AppleSpeed 10-19-2010, 09:49 PM This remix is PHRESH TO DEF!!!
I hope y'all enjoy this jazzy rendition of Nas' "Thief's Theme" off the double-disc Street's Disciple album.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAjddowYqlQ
The first time I heard this, damms--the horn arrangement, the old-skool soul sample that kicks in every 4 bars, the very soulful piano, the strings, I never heard of Midas Touch before, but dammit if he didn't turn this to gold just like his name's sake!!
Here's another, this is somethin' me and my homie used to bump like EVERY DAY summer of '95, good stuff...
Too $hort (from bay area), and I've seen it spelled Cocktails and Cock Tales, but I think the album version is the former.
This is very mysogynistic but you'll get over it, very reminiscient of 90s bay area rap, takes me back to like Spice 1.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAjddowYqlQ
If your girl got delicate sensibilities, don't let her hear you bumpin' this 'cause it's gonna caues a problem, but this is a slick joint to bang with the homies. G-Funk era...
Johnny_AppleSpeed 10-22-2010, 02:39 AM man, these cookin' soul cats did a lot of remixes of some pretty big, industry-recognized tracks...
But the joint they did for Game's "Baggage Claim" and this really get it in, man!!
I'm really into these jazzy instrumentals lately, from Nas' "Thief's Theme" to this. An accurate portrayal of hip-hop's former glory.

He looks mad nerdy, but son got a nice flow...you could tell he's mad young though, his content's a li'l immature sometimes but otherwise, I can still appreciate, he's kickin' better stuff than 1/2 the rappers on air right now!!
What graduating class were you, just curious to know how old this kid is...
Some new CNN
Capone & Nore put a nice track together with Avery Storm called "The Corner" and it's different, but the entire sound theme is PIFF!! Very melancholy/pensive kinda mood to the tone. This is like chill on the porch or ridin' in the whip with only your thoughts as a passenger.

This instrumental goes hard as f*ck, and the cats on this track got some pretty nice flow and decent lyrics.
Enjoy!!
RR08EVOX 10-26-2010, 11:39 AM He looks mad nerdy, but son got a nice flow...you could tell he's mad young though, his content's a li'l immature sometimes but otherwise, I can still appreciate, he's kickin' better stuff than 1/2 the rappers on air right now!!

i graduated 04, so he graduated 08 i guess
check out Beedie and Wiz Khalifa, they went to the same school as well
Johnny_AppleSpeed 10-30-2010, 08:43 PM I got love for the east coast, but the mid-seaboard scene ain't really doin' anything for me these days...I can't mess with Wiz Khalifa or Wale. They're on some too simple for my tastes, nothin' wrong with that, but I appreciate a panache for wordplay and favor good production.
Although I can fux with them Li'l Brother cats from time to time. 9th Wonder & Spectac - Outro (from the outkast remixes) is one of the most incredible songs I've ever heard...it's gotta real melancholy instro, peep game here inna sec.
First in the lineup though...
StreetLife, Method Man, & Rebel INS - Do You Really (Thang Thang)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDJk2PGlm9g
Y'all might not like this, the instrumental is kinda caustic but it goes sooo damm hard!! I love it, some real type of apex predator isht...troopin' through the jungle onna tyrannical raid!! Pickin' parts of my enemies out my teeth isht...
9th Wonder ft. Spectac - Outro (from the Unofficial Lost Outkast Remixes)

Then, here's another track I been bangin' a lot lately...
Jayo ft. Saigon - Kurt Cobain

a sleeper from the Doggfather album
Snoop Dogg ft. Tray Dee & Daz Dillinger (dogg pound fame) - Downtown Assassin

Johnny_AppleSpeed 11-02-2010, 05:56 PM What up, Jersey? Thanks for the post, man...I forgot to check it out when I got home yesterday though. I can't peep from work. I read the comments, your usual mix of love/hate but everybody seemed to agree that the instrumental was fire--can't wait to peep game!
Ah'ight, today's offering is real avant garde...some real type of "don't push me...'cause I'm close to the..." EDGE music!!
It's from a Kay Slay mixtape called "The God Is Back" and the artist is Fatcat Pauly and the song is called "Back To Rap", the instrumental is sampled from a techno classic called "Kernkraft 4000" by Zombie Nation (I believe, I'm going off memory).
http://www.datpiff.com/pop-mixtape-player.php?id=md6a8921&tid=14
I think the updated drums on the instrumental make is pretty good...I enjoy listening to it, it's different--but good different!!

I'ma post up just the link to track 10, but the player that opens up will allow you to play any track off the mixtape, I recommend trakcs 5, 7, & 8 as well!!
But my favo is def 10, called "The Message (http://www.datpiff.com/pop-mixtape-player.php?id=m624c94c&tid=10)" <-- click there; 'cause it's got an old skool flavor and the horn sample goes extra hard!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 11-12-2010, 05:00 PM do a li'l ode to 2pac one old, somethin' new...to let 2pac intro y'all to St. Laz & Pottersfield music. This might be thug-hop, but these cats were gettin' live back in '05 and they're still doin' it...though to a lesser degree.
2 Pac - Holla At Me <-- prolly my fav 2 Pac joint, but the All Eyez On Me Album had some bangers, yo'...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpntYM4wcAo
St. Laz & Pottersfield ft. 2 Pac - The Government
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQHs_RnyEKE
The production instrumentals that st. laz & pottersfield were gettin' back in 2k5 was second to none!! Used to bang these tracks like it was my job, in honor of John Henry...
I also recommend by St. Laz & Pottersfield:
"Stop The Killing--Build A Structure",
"Can't Buy Love",
"Little Brother",
"Grind 4 Grind"
"Big Stakes" St. Laz & Snyp Life
They're good, you could prolly find 'em on any decent mixtape circuit...
Since I couldn't find many more st. laz maneuvers on youtube, I'ma bring y'all the best remix for a Roots classic, "Proceed", this is known as "Proceed V" for being the fifth remix, brought to you by Beatminerz, it's GUUUUUD!!

Johnny_AppleSpeed 01-18-2011, 10:30 PM Copywrite ft. Camu Tao, Tage Future, and Jakki Da Mota Mouth (prod. RJD2)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzTh-tAJuGM
two of my top ten are on this... Copywrite and Jakki.
Copywrite, used to be the nastiest punchline emcee. I'm not plugged into the scene like that anymore to be even able to offer an educated opinion about it. But his wordplay like 2002-2005ish was leagues ahead of his peers or anybody before him...
"and I'm not in the mile-high club/ so I don't give a flyin' fuck//"
Johnny_AppleSpeed 01-20-2011, 03:41 PM Copywrite - Tic Toc
Hoooooly Craaaaap, after givin' Copy's latest album a solid listen, that gets my vote for best solo album of 2010. That music is crack, getchur dependency on... The album is called "The Life And Times Of Paul Nelson"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuAv0m60gVI
Johnny_AppleSpeed 01-27-2011, 05:44 PM Dr. Dre ft. Snoop Dogg & Akon - Kush
I usually don't post stuff with Akon innit, but damm the world--'cause this instrumental needs to be heard!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuJDaOVz2qY
I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!!
Me and my homie might be wreckin' this instrumental tonight...I got like 16 bars of savage word play. The world ain't ready...
Johnny_AppleSpeed 01-30-2011, 12:04 AM Two of eminem's most listenable songs (in my opinion) that maintain his lyrical credibility but never really got the kinda exposure I think raw hip-hop needs.
Eminem, J-Black, and Masta Ace - Hellbound (remix - Game Over edition)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkxDpTT88gQ
Eminem, Obie Trice, and DMX - Go To Sleep

Johnny_AppleSpeed 02-17-2011, 04:35 PM I gotta special treat for y'all...I guarantee this is some very elite type of isht. I been fuxin' with this cat D-Spiize for a hot minute. My boy from back in the hey day used to rap with this cat online. And then I think ADverse is from the Dorian III, I think it's the same head 'cause he been out for a min.
Anyway, they form a crew with another head named Odee The Architect...it's called Quote of Arms, which I think is sick wordplay, personally.
They're very unknown at this point, these videos got very few views (relatively speakin').
I hope you enjoy it, I think it's quality. The instrumentals are original and the lyrics/delivery are pretty unique too. Odee The Architect has a nasty flow.

Lupe Fiasco ft. Skylar Grey - Words I Never Said
This song is effing classic in the making, except that garbage female on the hook, but that's not enough to depreciate the value of this song. The lyrics are so on-point. Way to put America on blast, Lupe...it's actually a good thing. America is so damm plastic and bubble gum, everybody tryin'a fleamarket bootleg true character with all that false personality, there's hardly an substance in our culture anymore. Everybody's trading in their originality to be a copy of what's "in style".
Okay, enough of that though...
I'ma also bless y'all with The Instrumental (this could be a repost, if so I apologize).

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-02-2011, 01:14 AM Smoke (Oldominion fame)

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-07-2011, 04:42 PM hooowheeeee, y'all old heads, I know y'all prolly ain't messin' with these r&b rappers and I don't really either, but you can't deny the harmony in some of those melodic hooks. It just agrees with the music and you can't front on that...
With that said, I gotta r&b rapper track, but before you roll your eyes, peep game (no pun intended) and give it a chance. Roll the dice and listen with an open mind. The hook has an 80s swag to it, so you know I'm fuxin' with it.
Game - Blackout
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEr3EiiKjSk
I found this track on youtube, just makin' my usual Canibusy rounds. This cat Omni3 from London is a FREAKIN' REMIX MONSTER!!! This kid has put out some insanely DISGUSTING remixes of many different artists, but bless his soul, he's got an affinity for Canibus (my favorite emcee of all time). So I really dig his material, 'cause he makes ol' favorites fresh again. This song is excellent on all fronts, and the verse even sounds new to me and the best part, it's like Canibus of old, nice imagery and metaphors, with sick rhyme structure.

Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-10-2011, 10:38 PM Gritz - My Life Be Like (Ooh Ah)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqk-qvR53hQ
this instrumental is incredible and the artists onnit do a decent job of bringin' credit to the song...
Johnny_AppleSpeed 03-24-2011, 08:38 PM This first joint is pretty laidback, son's an ATL representative...so the instrumental is chill-mode. But I actually enjoy the r&b rapper hook--it's catchy and not really soft. Enjoy...
