Phase 1 is complete... After 1,000 miles or so, we'll turn up the heat on this combo!

Did the customer select the pistons & cams? Just curious if there's a reason that you went with them over other options.

We selected the parts for this build. After consulting with the owner and setting goals, we were sure this combo could get the job done.

OP, did you guys go with the 272 BC cams and their spring kit? how are the cams working? I always hear people say, "BC sucks blah blah blah" but they haven't used them on the X, but you guys actually did and i'm very interested in your thoughts and results of these cams since i might be going with them. I hear the degrees of the cams are off, but it seems to not be true obviously. what are your thoughts? and how the hell did you guys not run out of fuel on a simple 255lph? did you guys do custom fuel lines or fuel cell?

Based on the customer's goals, we chose the BC stage 2 cams due to the profile of this pair vs pricing. I tend to not "follow trends" when it comes to parts selection, but rather do my own research and apply my understanding of VE vs airflow potential of the turbos being selected.

In the late 80's - early 90's, I fiddled with many different platforms-- from small block chevys/fords to rotaries to turbo i4's. Cam selection plays a major role towards the combustion process. Getting the 'bang for the buck' is and always will be my point of focus when given a budget to work with because I still remember my days in high school building cars with limited funds. The BC cams fit the program very well, especially when you take the GSR's gear ratios
into consideration.

There's a nice link on this site that really expresses the cam choices available. Take a look at the cam profiles and tell me what you think.....

Thanks for all of the positive feedback guys!!

Nice numbers. With your build it also looks you opted for a 'conservative' tune knowing you'll be running on pump gas.

You need to be running some crazy power to need a double-pump on 93 octane. The other part of the answer is that this isn't a heartbreaker dyno.

Exactly +100, a single 255 and 1K injectors are good for 500+ on a jet.

Hell we have made over 420whp on our dyno with just 800cc and the stock pump and still had a little room to go:p

Why do you insist on trolling my thread? Do I need to have a chat with your dad??

The owner is a newbie at the track and has to learn the ropes....

Now on your end,,,, Did you replace the motor that threw a rod at the track the day after the 11.0 pass?? You are SPONSORING the car correct?

Post after post after post, but you somehow forgot to share with the community that the car blew up----- Shame shame shame on you.

Most of us are noobs...i fully expect a very shitty run at the track my first time out, lol.

Trap speeds are good indicators of what kind of power is being made...don't sweat it though, they can vary greatly depending on driver.

Lets all be friends:) We already know all dynos read different, that debate is tiresome and not worth exploring again.

No problem, but anything you need to talk about can be directly with me.

Oh and yes, the car did throw a rod due to an over rev via logged through evoscan (9,300rpm), kind of like what happened to your new found client in this same thread!

After pulling the motor and inspecting the pistons there are no signs of detonation of any kind, you are more than welcome to come down and see for yourself!

The pistons looked beautiful after all the abuse the car has been taking since day one!

I never mentioned anything about it simply because there was no need to.

We have a 10:1 custom compression motor sponsored and the block has been sent out to darton for some custom sleeve work.

The car will be up and running shortly.

I couldn't help but comment in the thread simply because it is a public forum and I asked a simple question.

That is all!

Ninja Edit, they say you aren't going fast if you aren't breaking! It's all part of the game but really, leave my father out of these forums. If you have anyone to call it is me.

Thanks!

Usually, it takes 2-3 days for parts to arrive and 2-3 days to complete the build.

This car came to us needing more than the norm, and was delayed getting parts from mitsu.

Let's see where to begin,,,,

A-Poking fun at a dead man who has touched the lives of millions...

B-Not believing in 477hp out of a turbo that flows 60lbs per minute...

C-Questioning pump gas grade with horsepower that can be made by any decent tuner...

D-Questioning correction factor on a "Non adjustable dyno" dynosheet with the correction factor and smoothing clearly printed on top...

Nevermind, I pass.
