: The difference between 11.4 and 11.0 or 10's?

Here is some data I have been studying the past 2 weeks on 2 different cars which I would like to share.

Both cars are Lex08Gsr and Evo a mula which are 2 clients of mine and have both been to the track with great success in the past 2 weeks.

As you all know Lex08Gsr (Alex) and Evo a mula (Allen) have ran 11.4 @ 121.6mph and 11.0 @ 127mph.

I am overlaying one dynosheet comparing the 2 setups and the 4 tenths between the 2 cars best times so far at the track.

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/9974/overlays.jpg

Now Lex08Gsr has a bone stock motor with a blouch 2.0 compared to Evo A Mula which runs our upgraded blouch stock appearing turbo and kelford 214b cams/valve springs.

As you can see @ 8,000rpm Evo A Mulas car is making 100whp more than Lex08Gsr with our upgraded turbo and the Kelford 214b cams and valve springs at the same boost (31psi).

Now many of you are going to say with all that extra hp, how come the difference is only 4 tenths of a second?

Evo a mulas car weighs 3,500lbs and is on 18X10.5 Advans w/ all season street tires compared to Lex08Gsr 3,700lbs on stock rims w/ a taller tire and an Ichiba 20mm spacer.

Here are the 2 time slips comparing both best passes to date coming right off the dyno with the overlaying comparisons:

Lex08Gsr:

Evo a Mula:

Both cars are capable of going much faster from 60ft alone I am just comparing 2 cars that are a lot different in power and combination's but not too far away from track time at the moment being.

At first glance we can all conclude that Lex08Gsr can use some cams/valvesprings but with the turbo being just about maxed out how much will a cam change help us?

We can also conclude that Evo a Mulas rims/tire combo is far from efficient and was the difference from running a possible 10.6/10.7 compared to his 11.0.

I will be updating this thread as both cars make progress with their setups.

Now that I have valid proof this is simply to show the community what is needed off my dyno to run the current times with my tuning and the given setup.

Here are both cars setups starting with:

Lex08Gsr:

Blouch 2.0 Turbo
Coolingmist Alcohol Injection (375cc Nozzle, 100% meth)
Full Tbe w/ Ets o2 Dump
4" IC w/ IC Piping
Forge Blow Off Valve

Now of course you have the driver mod which can make or break you.

Both Alex and Allen are great drivers..

Keep in mind this is Alex's first awd turbo car ever and this car has only seen 9 drag strip passes ever making this his 3rd time at the track.

Both Allen and Alex are running extremely consistent times as well which backs up my theories with my tuning style and dyno numbers:

I will have this thread updated as soon as we get some more data and track time.

Both cars are going to get real interesting real soon so stay interested!

Lex08Gsr made 3 passes last Sunday:

11.52 @ 121
11.50 @ 122
11.42 @ 121

Evo a Mula made 3 passes 2 Saturdays ago:

11.09 @ 125
11.07 @ 126
11.07 @ 127

very nice. i think dyno plots and quarter mile slips should be posted hand in hand more often. thanks a bunch!

I know you stated Evo a mulas was on some 18X10.5 Advans, what size tires? 265/35? Also what was his limiter raised to? 8100?

No problem glad this information was helpful to you!

265/35/18, falken all season tires.

rev limiter set to 9,300rpm, logs showed me roughly 9,200rpm @ 127mph in 4th gear with this tire and rim combo.

Evo a mula has kelford 214b cams with dual valve springs and titanium retainers.

8,100 will net you 122mph just like lex08Gsr, he is still on a bone stock motor, no head work cams or anything....

I don't like going any further than 8,500 on the stock head.

Our evo x revs to 8,500 rpm daily with 10K miles on the stock valve springs and cosworth mx1 cams.

Anything past 8,500rpm on the stock valve train and you are asking for trouble.
