I am wondering if my AFR is too high while my turbo is spooling. It is in the low 13's. My AFR seems ok towards the higher rpms. To quote Gunzo:

"you should be running mid 12s during spool.. 11.x at or around peak boost and dropping to 10.x as rpm climbs to redline .."

I've pulled some timing by 1-2 degrees in the 3-5k rpm 200-220 load range to counter knock. Otherwise the map is the same as Gunzo's generic. I haven't pulled my boost down yet... but wow 25 psi peak on the generic? That seems high!

Only mod is a test pipe. I'm on 93 octane gas. Should i pull my AFR's down in the earlier rpms?

Your spool up AFR is good, but I would lean it out a bit more. In the 10's is rather safe and I would say that low 11's during the RPM band is rather safe on the 4b11. I tuned my AFR's to 11.5:1 and leaner and I run a peak of 27.5psi.

I ran into the same thing about a year ago, and I richened up my map (in some places by over 1.x points) in the 90-200 load range during spool up. Some of the changes were pretty drastic especially in the lower load region. I'm not sure if that's good or not, as some people same leaner during spool will help spool faster. I did it just to be safe and my AFR's drop quickly to the 12's and 11's.

With my changes, I'm running high 11's AFR by the time I hit 10 psi (around 2800 rpm's for me at high elevation on a stock car). Not saying this is necessarily right for most power, but it's conservative based on advice I've received.
