2) North America
Mitsubishi Motors will further strengthen trust between the company and its dealers and make concerted efforts with dealers in providing service to customers, as well as working to improve the brand image in the mid- to long term. The company will also expand sales by, for example, marketing the new model of the Lancer Evolution released in January 2008 and adding a sport hatchback Lancer model hereafter. Best use will be made of the local production plant in the U.S. through continued efforts at overall cost-cutting, including fixed costs, and by expanding export opportunities.

soopah 03-08-2008, 12:37 AM Besides this document, which does not mention the coming Lancer Ralliart, which is a sedan, who else can confirm that a hatchback version is coming? Seems like there is something wrong here.

Dude, the RallyArt is a sedan but there will also be a "sportback" (hatchback) RallyArt!! Simple:thumbup:

desperado callado 04-16-2008, 03:33 PM We'll get another look in a few days at the Beijing show:

I didn't appreciate how much nicer the Concept was than the Prototype-S, which is somehow gaudy and mundane at the same time. Fat chance, but here's hoping they can shift back to the lines of the Concept. Some say it's inevitable that the concept will look better since it doesn't have to conform to practical manufacturing. But to me it's unfortunate that it seems to go from Evo Hatch:

to mini-Lexus/Acura SUV:

Vafpraky73 10-30-2009, 05:12 PM In response to all your questioning as to why Mitsu would do this, it is because the European market prefers wagons/hatchbacks over sedans. That is why Subie made a sedan for the U.S. market and also why Mitsu has no current plans to bring this to the American market as sales would be minimal.Bill

You do know Mitsu sells the sportback in the USA right? ;)
Rmondoh 10-30-2009, 06:11 PM Does anyone have plans to turn a Sportback into an Evo Sportback since Mitsu doesn't make the Evo in a hatchback (...yet :) )?
