^ cat from the cat and turbo from the turbo

catback- from the cat back to the rear of the car [includes muffler]
turboback-from the turbo back [downpipe and cat back]

Just to clarify a little further:

A turboback exhaust system is everything from the turbo all the way to the exhaust tip out the back. This is composed of three main components:
1) downpipe
2) catalytic converter or cat delete pipe (aka test pipe)
3) catback (which also includes muffler and exhaust tip)

A catback exhaust usually consists of two pieces, a long straight pipe that connect to the muffler/exhaust tip.

The whole reason to change out exhaust parts in the first place are for less flow restriction, both in the size of the opening and the straighter piping.

With this said, changing a turboback will give you more gains than a catback. Thus why buying a catback is much cheaper than buying a turboback because it's basically 1 component vs buying 3 components.

Id settle for a cat-back Id be having the MR so I'd really just be restricted in performance....The only mods I want would change the sound and add a little more bite ( just go ahead and put it over 300 hp lol)

So a cat-back and intake and I'd be happy.

TBE cannot void the warranty unless it's found to be the cause of the problem.

your in socal... have you thought about doing a custom exhaust? i'm sure you can get one done for around 600. PM me if you need a recommendation on a shop.

i'm thinking about getting a local muffler shop to just make a cheap side pipe for whenever i head up to the track. i've done this to my 510 and think this would be awesome for the X.

The Magnuson-Moss Act prohibits an auto maker from voiding your warranty merely because you add an after-market part. It prove that any failure for which you make a warranty claim was in fact caused by the after-market part in question ... http://www.impalaclub.com/naisso/magmoss.htm
