here it goes ,
since i bought my evo x about a year ago , i have noticed a very small grinding feeling when i shifted to 5th gear fast (from any gear position) ,
i didnt give it any attention at first, but over time , this grinding increased and increased , and now even with regular shifting (as when cruising down the highway) , it grinds on 5th gear! its sooooooo annoying really, i cant race anymore cuz of that.

anyone who had this same problem , or knows how to solve it please do help!

Have you changed your transmission fluid? I changed mine today because my new Evo was often grinding 3rd on WOT shifts or any time I shifted to 3rd very quickly. The change was definitely noticeable and up shifts and down shifts are smoother for me than before.

It costs like a mere 45 bucks to get the fluid and have it shipped so I think it's worth it. If you have already done it, well in that case I have heard changing shifting bushings, a short shifter, or a weighted shift knob can help with the problem.

Edit: just noticed you have a short with bushings :P

i do have the shifter bushing , short shifter as well , but the grinding is not normal at all , im thinking that the synchros have a defect in them, i use the OEM fluid , which one do u use ? n were u can order it?

I listed the fluid there, its a pretty easy thing to do, and it's only about 45.00 for the fluid shipped. Hollywood X has a great thread about this also that gives you step by step instructions to do it, and the three fluid options, you can find that a few threads down.
