For it to be a misconception, the idea has to be WRONG. Like, "it's a misconception that Evos are made in China"; they're not made in China, thus, it's a misconception.

You're basically bitching that people are saying that tires wear out faster during an AutoX, then go into a tirade about the longer it takes for your tires to wear out, the bigger a pussy you are.

The "you have to upgrade your brakes" think, I kinda sorta agree, is a misconception; for mild tracking/auto-xing, our brakes are fine.

ummm, theres always tons and tons of people afraid to autox because they think it kills there tires. and this morning i was asked about autox and he thought he had to upgrade his brakes, no, i explained why not, but it gets frustrating hearing things like that so often.

so do i need to upgrade the brakes?

asking questions is fine, let me be a bit more clear. my point was it bothers me that people just make ASSUMPTIONS about autox and wont do it. always hear stupid excuses like "oh, my car's not ready........" and 11xray, there is no need to upgrade your brakes unless you've ever run into fade or something which will not become an issue until you're car sees HPDEs

true, i am pretty lazy, staying still would be better.

I do not autox for a few reasons and think if naything would just do lapping days and such. 35.00 a day to run 2-3 45 second passes on a tight course do not sound like much fun for the evo and i think my class would be to screwy for the civic to be remotely competive atleast with me driving. I have only tried it once tho and it was a long time ago even tho a lot of my friends still do it.

yeah, the same reason i dont do it anymore but ill still do practice days. usually about 20 runs for $40. actual events suck ass!
