Just wanted to get a feel as to how people found this site. I'm trying to make the community grow, and have tried several things to make that happen. So, I'd just like to get some feedback to see which of those things were the most effective.

Also - to prevent any confusion - A google ad can either appear on google itself or on any page that google advertises on. It will usually look something like this:

A google (or any other search engine result) will look just like any other search result when you search for certain keywords.

Also, if you can recall which key words you entered, that would help too. :)

The way it works is that the more you pay (relative to those who are competing with you for a given keyword) the more likely your ad is to be displayed.

I just checked, and it was displayed on the right when I googled for 'evo x'.

Right now, it may pop up 1 in 3 times. If I paid more, it would be displayed more often.

Gotta start small though, I can't go too nuts with the ads until we're big enough to get sponsors or something to help foot the bill.

You might consider investing at all the major search engines... yahoo, aol, etc...

Was searching images.google.com for a side shot of the EVO X and RalliArt to compare differences. I usually don't click the image at the top since, the same picture is supposed to be on the page below with, usually, more pics. I started reading through the thread and the forum members really seemed cool so, I joined up.

I've never heard that complaint out of any advertiser. The bot posts what, 10 posts a day? In the grand scheme of things, it's not that much.

Ok, cool - I didn't mean to tick you off. I've just never seen that on any other car forum, and most interesting news is typically discussed on them. Like most others, I already subscribe to the AutoBlog feed in my blog reader, so it's just duplicate info here and most don't get any comments on.

It may be 10 new threads a day, but that appears to be a fairly high percentage of the total thread count, though not post count, of course. I don't know about your advertisers, but I buy ad packages on other car message boards for one of my companies and it jumped right out at me.

I tried ignoring the user, but the topics still show up in the new posts search so it didn't help.

It's not a big deal, I just though that it was odd and that I'd ask what the reasoning behind it was.

I was searching on google for info on tuning my new EVO X. I think I found the right place... seems to be plenty of gearheads on this site.

I started out TSD rallying in San Diego 35 years ago; then moved to Syracuse NY and progressed to Autocross, Pro Rally, Ice Racing and Road Racing. Nowadays I mainly Ice Race. I've won far more trophies than I can count, and many season championships. The EVO is incredible; with it I could have beaten John Buffum back in the Pro Rally days (in the mid-70's there were no AWD rally cars, and few turbos).

The EVO is my DD for now; my current ice racer is a '95 Eclipse AWD with a stock drivetrain from the EVO of that era.

I'll stick to stock for now to avoid warranty issues, but eventually I'd like to get 400 hp at the top end with bolt-ons and tuning. I think that I've come to the right place.

Encountered your site whilst researching aftermarket rims for my new EVO X MR. Because the black is actually a metallic colour with fine bronze specs in it I've been looking for Bronze rims ..& I thought that the "Darkside Engineering" cars looked interesting.
I was trying to find out if anyone in Australia new if the DTM Z7's had the right offset for a X MR.
The Work Emotion XT7's 18 x 9 +20 are quoted as fitting on one Australian site.
