It seems that lately, Jeremy Clarkson just can't catch a break. Like some other Englishmen we can think of (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_cowell), Clarkson has never had a problem being brutally honest, despite the fact that his viewpoints get him into trouble (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Clarkson#Controversy) every now and again... and again (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=530330&in_page_id=1770). This time, Clarkson was allegedly photographed talking on a cell phone while driving. While some of the more car-consicous among us may be more interested in the classic Mercedes Benz that he was piloting, talking on a mobile phone while driving is illegal in the U.K., and apparently the offense is taken rather seriously. Clarkson is currently being chided for thinking that he is "above the law".
We can't help but wonder if this is being made into a much bigger deal than it normally would because of Clarkson's fame. The fact that his stardom revolves around automobiles and driving doesn't do him any favors in this particular situation either.
Thanks for the tip, iSpec!

3 points for driving whilst on a mobile phone+£60 fine, plus they could give you another 6 points for driving with out due care and attention or some other offence if you endangered anyones life. If you get 12 points on a UK driving license you automatically get a 12months ban.

lol. I bet he's alot better than some teens that chat and text whlist driving. I just came from LA where this is a sport....and usually it's done in the fast lane going 58, holding a starbux, checking their email on some strawberry' AND scolding their sugar sucking screaming toddler in the back seat. To top it off they get chapped and use some 'gesture' when you pass them

He will get off with it because of the circumstances. Two "people" who we like to describe as "wankers" over here, saw him and thought theyd make themselves some cash and try and get him in bother took a photo of him on their own mobile phones and sent it to a popular tabloid newspaper.

I say we find these two "people" and run them over whilst talking into our bluetooth headsets :D

I don't know about that. Anyone remember that truck driver in Germany? That made the news in North America.

Note to self go to briton put hands free headset in right ear. not left LOL

Personally I trust Clarkson to drive more competantly with a cell phone then the average driver..clarkson has a good automotive background he knows how to drive a car. Not Stig like driving but he can drive a car.

I really hate the cell phone laws. I know that I have used the phone millions of times while driving and never been in, or cause a accident, or even swerved due to lack of paying attention.

Just want to thank all the uncordinated ass holes in the world that drive and make the government come up with bull shit laws like this.

Isn't the steering wheel on the wrong side?
