quick question...

i bought a new AP for my 08 MR from a vendor. the AP didn't have a screen protector film on it when i took it out of the box, the screen had some very fine scratches (no big deal), and the OBDII cable is solid black, no logos. i remember seeing AP connectors having a reb/white colour and AP logo on them?

the solid black cable is the new style...i use to have an older one with the dongle on it...i personally like the new style much better...feels way more secure when plugged in

There should be a screen protector, we get this ALLLL the time. It is there, just scratch your fingernail on the corner of the screen, it will come up.

Yeah those screen protectors are sneaky. If you accidently peel it off checking you can go to wal mart by where the ipods are and buy screen protectors then cut it to the size of the screen on the AP.

Haha I'm glad I just saw this. I thought mine was scratched from day one, b/c my AP from my previous car had a more "loose" fitting protector.

Just checked my evo X one, sure enough....protected. Thanks..I'm keeping it on now.

lol, those screen protectors sure are tricky. i sent back 2 ap's before i realized they were new. good thing the vendors were awesome and didnt hassle over it.

ive had both versions of the AP as well, the black cord is MUCH better.

wow, this entire time I thought the cobb I bought 9 months ago came with scratches and I never bothered to remove the protective film, not realizing it was there.

LMAO... I was a little disappointed when I bought my AP back in December that there were scratches on the screen! I've had mine for 6 months and it has picked up even more scratches from putting it in my pocket. Came across this thread just now and I can't believe it... I just noticed that there's a plastic cover and that's the only part scratched!! :yay:
