I know I have been pushing this with Cobb for awhile and looks like something maybe in the works. For me it only makes sense go to market or the iStore and download the AP app and your on your way. Most phones now days have more processing power, memory, and better resolution than the little AP's have.

If they tap into the GPS as well as other sensors the smart phones have and combine the info with the rpm the dyno and 1/4 mile times should be more accurate. With the amount of phone memory and processing speed the data logs will be far more suitable for tuning and no real need to pack a laptop around anymore. Really I think this is a damn good move and I am excited to see it happening :rock:

Well the cost is ridiculous every month, considering I've been paying $10 per month for about 5 years now for my regular cell phone. I'm sure they're cool and everything, but I'd rather spend the extra $500-$1k per year on something else...

PLX Kiwi and it probably wouldn't require it but it would make it so much cooler.

How would you get the data any other way?

I had the plx kiwi and used it with my itouch. Very cool little program, but one big problem I had. It constantly dropped the signal from the kiwi.

One other big issue with the kiwi is that it has the absolute smallest on off switch. For being something you want to hide or put in a place that is going to stay clean, dry, and out of the way, you would think they would be able to find a better way to turn it off. It's like one of those tiny switches you find on the bottom of a kids toy.

Anyway, I voted blackberry. I'm sure the iphone or android will be first, but hope they don't forget about us BB guys.

I haven't upgraded my iPhone since the first one. I cannot wait for it and if we get a application from cobb....holyjizzmypants.

I voted iphone as well. I wonder if they will be cutting the price on their ap if you can just get app for your phone. Hopefully the app will be free for people who already have a ap.

I voted droid....but I'd much rather them be working on Evo X MR tuning then hooking my phone up to the car.

I wonder how much it costs them to make the actual AP unit. Its probably pretty low with the amount they make but if they could cut all those costs it could translate it to big savings for us.
