I have a quick question for those detailing experts. Ever since I got my HFC, I have noticed that there are little almost rust colored dots on the Evo. These can be found on the trunk and by the rear wheels. My question is how can I clean these spots off? I will try to get pics tomorrow. Thanks

rail dust from your brakes most likely. you need clay and sometimes pretty aggressive one to take them off, but after aggressive clay you gonna need to buff those parts cause aggressive clay will cause marring on paint

Meguair's Clay Bar, followed by Deep Crystal Polish and NXT Tech 2.0 Wax.

I had the same thing...+1 on the clay and polish. I was fortunate enough that I had several coats of wax on before it started. I stripped the wax off this spring, clay, polish, and re-waxed. It took care of it. Took me a while, but I wanted to be thorough. Just be patient while cleaning. I used Meguiar's Clay Kit.

I used Simple Green to get off the exhaust residue worked great. If you haven't already clay barred it then I would do that. I didn't want to clay bar my entire car, so I just used Simple Green then put down another coat of wax.

Simple green works, as does Mother's California Gold Detailing spray, actually. If you're patient it's not hard to get the carbon deposits off of the trunk.

I believe the clay bar is one way.

I've heard of a similar problem. It involved cars that were parked near trains. Basically the brake dust would imbed itself into the paint of the car and would appear dirty or rusty looking.

Can't remember how I heard they got it out but you may want to google that.

But I also have heard claybar works for this.
