I dont have these issues, but I have the Aero kit, so rocks cant get up there anyway.

^Interesting point.

Either way, seems like there would be a good market for a 3M clear "bra" for these cars (although it would be behind the wheel in this case).

I'd do that over repainting the thing constantly.

Yes this problem seems to be happening to a lot of people but the people who have the aero kit don't have the problem as much because the huge side skirts block the rocks.

I did clear bra but not enough you need to do almost the whole door for the 3M to do any good.

Yeah I think the best bet is going to be mud flaps in the front.

Only $12/pair from Advance Auto:thumbup:
I highly recommend this.

Ack, I have the octane blue and the same problems that the guys in that thread were talking about are happening on my car as well. I noticed it after the first wash (500km).

I have Octane Blue too with 150 miles so far and no chips. I try to drive local after my friend with Rally Red had this problem and he just bought it a few weeks before me. I just installed those $5 Mud Flaps today, with modifications to the Mud Flaps the original plastic screws works even better than the ones recommended. It's time to take it for a ride on the highway :godance:.

I installed those elusive Mitsubishi mudflaps. So far, the lower sides of the car are a lot cleaner (used to get a lot of crap blown up onto the doors).

No more rock chips as far as I can tell, but I'll know for sure on Saturday when I wash it.

Don't have the problem yet and have a little over 1000 miles. I'm not a fan of the mudflaps so I guess I'm SOL. Hopefully I just won't have any problems.

I did talk to a guy who owned a white x and he had his repainted for free by mitsu.

Here you go. I like them because they were cheap, easy and look OEM.

Just go to AdvanceAuto and they are out on the aisles. There are two sizes - one for cars and one for trucks - get the cars. They are $5 for a set of two.

Then I just used the original pushpins to mount them to the wheel well. You will need to trim the fronts to clear the wheel.

Here is the original thread that I followed from the "other" forum
