Tired of the high RPM hesitation? Want to help cure your rough idle? A freer flowing intake will help!
Give your Evo X the power boost it needs with this AEM Dryflow Synthetic Filter. These filters offer 99.4% filtration as small as 1 micron without the use of oil while also helping to increase you gas mileage. Oil-free filters are MAF friendly as they will not pollute your MAF wire with oil, which could cause your car to run poorly.
3" inlet with 5" filter element length.

Im sorry for the stupid question again but---does this void the warranty?

Only if the dealer wanted to REALLY bust balls. They'd be hard pressed to void your warranty over an air filter.

Here's a picture of a K&N filter, this would go in the same place. People have reported 10+whp from a good cone filter in this place, along with a smoother running car.

I might just go with the drop in filter then. That one has a dyno proof of 27HP. How could this be though?

A user on this forum posted that they tried a drop in-filter as well as the cone filter. The cone filter made a much larger difference.
One thing you're going to have to learn is that unless you're comparing the same car on the same day on the same dyno back to back, you're comparing apples to oranges.
In other words, don't just go buy the company who states that their part has the highest gains. That said, 27hp for a drop-in air filter is laughable. The cone filter is much more apt to give you a larger gain.

An increase of 27 hp from a drop in filter alone sounds like story time to me.
Though they do demonstrate with a dyno plot (http://www.norcalevo.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10660/EVOX_FilterComparison.jpg), before and after. Did they make any other changes and is this on an otherwise completely stock Evo X?

from posts from our very own forum:
in reference to a cone filter:
I install and tried it out, it is a big improvement over the works, which is better than OEM. With the Works at WOT, the turbo needed more air, I could feel and hear it. with the Cone better response through the whole power band,
I have the Works filter. I picked up 1.5 more MPG and the turbo is definitely more audible. I can't say that I can necessarily feel a power increase however.
Anyway, enough about the drop-in works filter, this thread is about the AEM cone filter. Not only is it almost 1/3rd the price shipped, but it will make more power as well.

I would love to see the results showing 27hp on a drop in filter >.>
