This works great on just about every car out there, myself and my customers have been using this for years.
Basically, it allows you to eliminate a catalytic converter without causing a Check Engine Light (ie, a CEL).
I haven't tried it on an X yet, but perhaps someone can give it a whirl:

As soon as my pipe gets here, I'll have these ready to try out!
I have this on the car since we put the exhaust on a month or so ago.
I've yet to get a check engine light for a non-working 02 sensor, HOWEVER, it does have "Low 02 Sensor Voltage, Bank 1, Sensor 2" code in pending pretty often if you look into the pending codes.
Unlike earlier models, the CAN BUS system not only seems to check to see if the rear 02 sensor is reading LESS voltage then the front unit, but also checks to make sure that it is within a certain parameter in comparison to the front sensor.
Works for the check engine light, but will show up in diagnostics and during a sniffer test (inspection).
Hold on to your catalytic convertors for inspection for the time being.

^Good call.
Perhaps we can use the same type of trick, but put the sensor in a little closer?

Would it be ethical to steal this writeup and copy it to our forums ;)

Well couldn't it work if you did the non-fouler trick to both sensors?

No, then the ECU would be trying to correct the low voltage on the front sensor and either kicking a light, or adding fuel to an already rich situation.
I might try to reduce how far the rear 02 is out of the stream, or drill the hole a little bigger and give that a try.
I'll let you know the results.
