: Tuning for road racing

Hi,

Next weekend I am going to a trackday event with my 2008 Evo X GSR.

Some weeks ago, I have started a remote tune with a pro, but after a long wait for a SSP CMC, the tuner is not currently available. So, I decided to (try) continue his work.

I have been searching this and the other forum for afr/boost dynos for Evos being used in road racing, but I could only find one example (http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-dyno-results/500309-335whp-adam-mms.html). In such example, the guy is running low boost, low timing and richer afr for road racing.

I would like to see more examples. When stock, I have run a much more aggressive tuning, but currently I have TBE, FMIC + pipes + Mishimoto Radiator. I only use 95 octane with 20% ethanol. Thats one of the pump gas available here in Brazil.

I am targeting 24-25psi peak boost, tapering to 16.5 (7500rpm). I have the "Disable FT @ WOT" mod active. What should be a reasonable (safe but good performance) AFR target?

Currently, I am hiting (3rd gear pull):
3000 - 13.5
3500 - 12.0
4000 - 11.7
4500 - 11.6
5000 - 11.5
5500 - 11.5
6000 - 11.4
6500 - 11.2
7000 - 11.2
7500 - 11.2

Are these safe? Should I be richer for track abuse (15-20 minutes sessions).

Any tip for the timing setup? Currently, I am quite conservative.

Thank you,
Ziki

Those look pretty solid to me. Does not look unsafe but im also not a pro tuner

I am wondering if I should be richer during spool-up.

What about being richer 11.2-11.1 (4000-7500) but with a more advanced timing?

Thank you,
Ziki
