So i am in the middle of installing a kenwood DDX7019 double din head unit. and the problem i came across was after i hooked everything up and tried to play a cd and through the radio nothing comes out of the speakers and im wondering if i have to bypass the stock rockford fosgate amp or not?

PDX said you have to jack into the factory amp. If you have the 9 Speaker SSS package

i saw that thread but what do u mean by jacking into it? like bypass the amp?

It looks like PDX only show us the front low voltage for the factory amp Input. low voltage input is basicly like the RCA output/input
So the input for the factory amp is unclear, But i will figure it out this weekend.

But the output for high voltage from OEM amp output is fairly clear. You will need to run longer speaker wires from your after market headunit to the factory Amp located under the drivers seat. then tap into the wire that run to your speakers. yes basicly bypassing the factory amp, as of now i dont know what the oem amp set up is like.
and if you do bypass the factory amp, you will still need a new amp to run your 10'
Oem Sub in the trunk. So maybe bypassing the factory amp isnt a good idea.

I think the factory amp is kind of weak sauce anyways, so I will likey use an The JL Audio 300/4 channel amp or anything high end that will fit uner the driver seat,For easier install since running RCA output from After market head unit to the
after market Amp RCA will be much cleaner. And since the speaker wire for the OEM speak is located right there under the seat. We will have less speaker wires to deal with. And now with the battery located inside the car, it will be much easier to run 1 single power cable to the Car battery.
I have put some time aside this weekend, to have my Kenwood DDX6019 install using
the Metra kit that I have sitting here for a week. If you can wait until this weekend, I will be sure to update PDX wiring diagram this weekend using the factory amp. Im not
saying they are wrong, its just missing some small details.

The problem is the AMP doesnt have a remote lead for it. Because of this, there is no easy way to turn the AMP on. It requires a CAN bus connection to turn on, and this signal may be coming from the factory deck. I could be wrong though, I haven't messed with this yet.

alright cool thanks i'll wait till this weekend

okay i see that there are 2 connectors on the amp, i am thinking that one goes from the speakers to the amp and the other goes from the amp to the deck and i was wondering if i could just strip the 2 and connect them together? because im just gonna use another amp to connect my 2 10inch subs

You can, but not with a factory deck because the wire coming from the Factory deck is just low voltage output, just like a RCA signal. Its wont even come close to powering your speakers,

Your after market headunit's speaker output should have the juice to power the
factory speakers. Make sure you wire up the wiring harness right if you have an harness. If not make sure you check the wires from the OEM amp input side, to match up with the wire under your dash.
It just more safe to run new wires from you head unit to the amp location.
its not that long of a reach.

Both connectors share outputs to the speakers, and inputs from the deck. If you are going to wire a new amp, you could just jack into the factory wiring for the speakers, but you need to find a way to deal with the separates in the front. Each speaker is powered individually from the amp, and you will need to do the same.

assuming that the crossover network, is inline with each speak itself.
If they are built into the factory amp then there will be more issue to deal with. If this was the case, then after market components set might be needed if you go aftermarket amp, or you can just find some cheapo component set, and just use the crossover unit off of it just as well.

Sorry Flooby, but Factory amp hook up is a no go,I cant seem to find any way to turn the
amp on. Plus after A few hour of testing the wire at the factory amp location, It seem
like there is only 1 set of lines for the front output coming from the factory unit. So
even if i was to find out, I still cant control my fade for front and back. and BTW
the OEM amp is a peace of crap. I dont know how Mitsu can claim 650 watt system.
Maybe its 650watt MAX, Just like sony amp that claim 1200 watt even when they are only 200watt RMS.
My Avic-D3 with 50x4 watt puts out more power to the speakers .And is much more clean power then the factory amp for sure.
Right now i have my head unit installed, Just figuring out where to Mount the JL-500/1
I know its over power and will more then likey blow up my OEM sub over a short time, but then a single 10" sub is cheap replacement. Plus the The 500/1 is a single-channel, class D subwoofer amplifier with a power rating of 500 watts into any load between 1.5 ohms and 4 ohms. Its give you alot of sub options.

Haven't looked yet, so I'll ask quick.

Where's the factory Amp located in the X?

I just ordered the Metra kits to install my old system from my Z06 into the car (AVIC-Z2, JL Amps, etc., minus speakers--gonna be hard to fit 8" and 4.5" mids in the doors) and hopefully will be attacking that this week.

The stock Rockford system is okay for a factory setup but overall is pretty bad.

That and the 300/2 are what I'm using in mine. There seems to be a decent amount of room behind the back seat if you build a mounting bracket and mount them parallel to the upper back seat.

Although, after looking at these for a little while, I might sell those two amps and get some of these:

The amp is located under the drivers seat, Tuan so did u get the speakers to work? did u just wire the speaker wires directly to the amp?

Yup got my speakers working, Had to run 4 set of new speaker wire from my Avic-D3 to the amp location, Only 5 foot of wire, so you wont need alot.
Just follow PDX's wire diagram, its spot on. If you unplug the 2 plug from
the factory amp, The bigger one has the 4 wires for the front speaker
the smaller plug has the tweeter and rear speakers. The tweeter wire are the smallest wires, PDX has the colors called out perfectly. Just fine some wire tap, and just tap into the wire at the oem amp location. I just snip the wire but left enough room on the oem harness to wire them back if I ever decide to re intall the factory amp.Wont ever happen because any car that I ever sell come with everything intact.

Here is a iphone pix of what im talking about, Was lazy and didnt stick the wires under the carpet, But I will be running an amp for the Aftermarket components
so powering the speakers with the Avic-D3 will only be for a short time, Plus once you put the seat back on, you cant see it anyways.

That looks like it would fit under the seat maybe, The oem amp is small.
its 8x8x2, anything bigger wont fit under the drivers seat. Yes it seem like
there is room for a few amps, I want to mount my amp on a bracket attach to the X brace. Right now, im trying to figure out how to remove the backseat
so i can run my RCA wires back there. Kind of stuck atm

Dont forget fine some plastic wrap, and keep the Plugs free from dust ect.
Just incase you want to reinstall the amp again.

My brother took the time to get everything out of the back of the car to weigh it (including the seats).

I'll see if I can have him sign up for an account on here and tell you what he did. I know it took him 10 minutes or so to figure out the last mounting points.

I know it should be easy and fast, I tried lifting it up but its wont move.
I just don't want to break anything atm. I Hope you brother can chime in and let us know how he removed the back seat, I done it on the EVO-8
just by lifting it up, and the seat pop right out with hardly any force.but
can 't seem to get the seat off the evo-X, Just let me know if that is how your brother did it, and I will try again today.

Sweet!! Did you notice how much better it sound?
The After market headunit, put out more power then the factory amp.
The OEM speaker isnt all that bad after all. The Factory amp just
don't have the power to make them sound load and clear.
