Got my issue of Grassroots Motorsports today, the only print car magazine worth subscribing too imo. They don't usually give a lot of rally coverage, and it's not often that you even see an Evo even in a photo background. So I was a bit surprised today to find THREE articles on Evos in this month's issue :)
The cover had a picture of ACP's Evo IX in the top corner, and a four page article by him on rally tips :) It's actually a pretty good read. I learned a bit... not that I knew much about dynamics in the dirt before hand. Makes me want to go find a sandlot and have some fun :)
Then when flipping through the back section that usually talks about various club racing results, I see another article title 'Privateer Evos Dominate Oregon Trail' about the small low-funded Evo teams kicking the snot out of the teams with much better factory/sponsor support. Evo's took the top 3 spots, knocking out all the STi boys, including their factory team. The top 3 were ACP, Bill Bacon and L'Estage.
On the very next page, there's an article about L'Estage's Rally America domination in his Evo X. At the Susquehannock Trail Rally, he took first, and again Bill Bacon took 2nd.
Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool to see the domestic rally scene finally getting some recognition, and to see it being dominated by Evos :)
