I just wanted to let you guys know that the Agency Power Intake kit for the Evo X kicks some major ass! It's easy to install and you can definitely feel the difference. If anything, the sound alone makes it worth every penny. It sounds soooo beautiful I cannot describe it. You can really hear the turbo between shifts. I won’t even get a BOV anymore I love how it sounds. The only think I didn't like is the price. The installation was very easy, if you've ever worked on a car before. You just loosen up a couple bolts and replace the original box with the heat shield and the small pipe with the cone. It would be nice if they included instructions for all those people that work on their cars often. Over all I give it a 9 out of 10, just because it's pricey.

It looks great! How much did it cost? Have you noticed if the power gains run throughtout the powerband?

I paid the original $299.00 they were asking for. Now you can buy them for $269.99 from Vivid Racing. I know I feel like an idiot, but I'm a compulsive buyer and I really wanted my Evo to breathe better. I haven't taken the car to a dyno, but you can definitely feel it on the high RPM’s. It's a lot smother on the higher RPM’s is what I'm trying to say. I can’t emphasise this enough, but the sound is so beautiful. I stain my pants every time I step on the gas and hear that turbo! :godance:

Not such a bad price to pay seeing how you are one of the first AND production is limited right now at this point! If you find it worth it and you're in love, just think that you helped us out by being a "beta tester," if you will. :bowlol:So, thank you and know I'll get one as well because of your purchase.

I wasn't aware production is limited. Again, it's a well thought out product and looks pretty nice as well if you ask me.
The only problem I had, sorry I just remembered, is that the original screws holding the Air Sensor to the aluminum pipe didn't fit right. They do fit, but you cannot tighten them up all the way down so the sensor is “floating” if you will. So I had to use some self-taping screws I had laying around and they worked great. I just don't want anyone to encounter any surprises when you're installing yours.

:+1:Now that was some good info. Also when I said production was limited, I meant seeing how it is a new engine and the new aftermarket products are still on the rare side for now. I DID NOT mean that the actual company who produced the intake are limited. Figured I best be clear on that one. You should do a sound video run. :godance:

do any of the aftermarket intake sys have the same problem with the maf sensor reading turbulent air giving the car a dip in power in certain rpms as the cone filter replacements? I would really like to know if that is an isolated problem to the cone filter replacement alone, because that is the only thing holding me up from getting an intake at this point, thanks.

did they by chance give you any power gain quotes.. or did you by chance get a dyno done for it? :)

No there are no power gain cuotes and I didn't do a dyno before or after for that matter.
I'm not in any way shape or form afiliated with Agency Power. I read on the evoM forum a different review of the intake and I did forget to mention something. the opening on the heat shield is a little big for the stock plastick piece. All I had to do is heat up the plaatic tabs and bend them up a little so it would grab the heat shield.
I didn't think this was a big deal since it's not the first time I have to modify a ''direct bolt on'' part to make it fit right. When they say ''diect bolt on'' I know they really mean ''minimal modification required''
I'll post some pictures later on today to show you exactly what I did to make it fit just right.
